There are those that theorize the universe and all in it is a result of a super computer. Before you laugh try to disuade this threory by denying mathematics is NOT a foundation/factor in all aspect of living things please don't enter things like "love" or other emotions as they are are all functions of the brain.
Numbers do in fact, encompass all things in existance.

Numbers are a way of expressing what the universe does. That objects interact in consistent ways means that their movements can be described mathematically. An electron knows nothing of the equations that describe its motion.

Numbers (+/_) are used to define an electron:1.602 X 10-19 charge and 9.109 X 10-31 kilogram therefore objection overuled. Next?.

math, physics, chemistry, etc. are used to define, explain, understand what exists....not cause what exists....

Not so fast. I think Paschendale meant that though we might define electrons with those numbers, they the electrons themselves could not care less of these symbols that we attach to them.

Words do in fact, encompass all things in existence.

A bowling ball geometry, the number of atoms in a birds brain, the number of ounces in a gallon and the temperature of the sun also do not care either but are expressed in their formation in numbers.

"Cause" in fact is expressed in part, numerically ie., what caused paper to burn - it's temperature reaches 457 deg. F. Objection overruled.

Ok but expression in their formation in numbers and being born of numbers may mean two different things.

That has no relevance to their ontology, ontologically they are not numbers, any more than a "bird" is the letters "b" "i" "r" "d," when we say bird we are not refering to just the combination of those letters but to an object (or if you are a mereological nihilist a combination of objects), the same goes for mathematics and the universe. If language didn't exist, birds would still exist, the same goes with mathematics and the universe.

Nope.

Numbers is an abstract creation of the human intellect. Numbers don't exist in nature or in the universe.

Algebra (or numbers) is a set of symbols and rules that humans use to try and understand the reality around them.

The universe, or as I like to call it, Cosmological Reality, has no use of or does not depend on Algebra or anything any being has devised to deal with their surroundings.

I'm not saying Algebra and Math are useless. Quite the contrary. Our ability to devise an abstract system that represents reality so closely is immensely useful.

But it's not reality.

Moore's Law:"Computer power doubles every 18 months". So if we are here a few more million year do you honestly believe we will not be capable of creating universes? Professor Mchio Kaku states some today are working on creating a mini solar system . If you believe science is not our only real God you are foolish. Go to any spot on eath and you will find numbers, numbers and more numbers from you pathetic little cell phones to rocket launches to heart transplants. Math is the creator.

File Physicists say they may have evidence that the universe is a computer simulation.

How? They made a computer simulation of the universe. And it looks sort of like us.

A long-proposed thought experiment, put forward by both philosophers and popular culture, points out that any civilisation of sufficient size and intelligence would eventually create a simulation universe if such a thing were possible.

And since there would therefore be many more simulations (within simulations, within simulations) than real universes, it is therefore more likely than not that our world is artificial.

Now a team of researchers at the University of Bonn in Germany led by Silas Beane say they have evidence this may be true.

In a paper named 'Constraints on the Universe as a Numerical Simulation', they point out that current simulations of the universe - which do exist, but which are extremely weak and small - naturally put limits on physical laws.

Technology Review explains that "the problem with all simulations is that the laws of physics, which appear continuous, have to be superimposed onto a discrete three dimensional lattice which advances in steps of time."

What that basically means is that by just being a simulation, the computer would put limits on, for instance, the energy that particles can have within the program.

These limits would be experienced by those living within the sim - and as it turns out, something which looks just like these limits do in fact exist.

For instance, something known as the Greisen-Zatsepin-Kuzmin, or GZK cut off, is an apparent boundary of the energy that cosmic ray particles can have. This is caused by interaction with cosmic background radiation. But Beane and co's paper argues that the pattern of this rule mirrors what you might expect from a computer simulation.

Naturally, at this point the science becomes pretty tricky to wade through - and we would advise you read the paper itself to try and get the full detail of the idea.

But the basic impression is an intriguing one.

Like a prisoner in a pitch-black cell, we may never be able to see the 'walls' of our prison -- but through physics we may be able to reach out and touch them.

Whose laughing now!?

So basically, you're saying a scientist from a more advanced simulation is watching me masturbate...

The OP is called the Matrix theory by most.

Ahhh, but who created the math, hmmm?

Mathematics helps explain the universe. The universe and all existence was not born form mathematics.

If language didn't exist, birds would still exist, the same goes with mathematics and the universe.

Some even argue mathematics says more about the way our brain works, than about reality.

451 degrees F......

Whose laughing now!?
and Math created man in his own image, male and female, positive and negative, etc.

It is humans who insist on dividing the universe and all its works into discrete packets called numbers, and defining it according to calculations called mathmatics.

Humans want to digitize everything... but the universe itself is analog: a seamless continuity that does not divide itself into digital packets.

A bird's flight does not divide itself into a hundred discrete moments per second... it just flies, continuously and without pause or digital breakdown, until it gets where it is going.

The ballistic path of a bullet can be expressed mathmatically, but the actual flight is one continuous movement from beginning to end: analog.

Saying the universe runs on mathmatics is an anthropomorphism, a projecting of human thought onto something that does what it does with no awareness of math.

Socially speaking, we were progressing quite well until one of our ancestors learned to count, then he noticed that some others had more than him, and the fight was on! Now we have people who do nothing but worship material things.
