Yes, I believe that overall we are. It's probably because we don't have to really face adversity anymore, and because we don't allow stupidity to meet its natural end. Iow, we're ignoring nature and evolutionary principles, so that stupidity is not a problem anymore, except in that we pay for it monetarily, rather than in the population controls that nature would normally demand of any species.
 
I think we are getting more ignorant, meaning we get by on less knowledge. OTOH, a lot of that knowledge has become useless. The information age and the ability to google just about anything is a good thing when used to access useful and enlightening information, but we all know that the internet and the older forms of the media can also be used to distort, defame, lie, propagandize, etc.
This easy access to knowledge, true or not, might just reduce our ability to think for ourselves, depending on the links we click...
 
The issue is not more stupid (argh) but less informed. I will admit that intelligence has never been acceped in this country (four eyes egg head, nerd, etc) and even laughed at. People just seem to enjoy their own comfort zones and don't want to move out of it. As a result they accept only what they are comfortable with and ridicule what is outside of the CZ. As a result thier views of the world are myoptic, narrow minded, limited and this results in an increasingly misinformed or uninformed masses.

It is a matter of being able to percieve using an open mind and our natural curiosity. When that dies we are in serious trouble.

there are different types of 'knowledge' and they're useful in different ways.

I can't hunt, so that's a -1.
But I can sew, so that's +1.
I can't make my own thread or sheer my own sheep. -1
However, I can mend. +1.
I can read +1.
I can write +1.
I can weld +1.
I can built +1.
I can't shuck wheat -1.

on and on.

So - you'd have to take two different people and compare - would you be able to live their life back then? would they be able to live a life right now? Schooling, education, religion, politics - all these things.

So really - what does matter then is the ability to adapt and learn the skills necessary to your environment. Not 'smarts' on an 'education level' because so many things in life do't rely on that aspect at all.

IMHO TV has made Americans much more stupid. Yes, I was around before TV and we depended on reading and conversation to stimulate our brains. Passively watching One Adam Twelve does not stimulate your brain. All the pictures are there for you and you don't need to process any of your own information.

I believe that there was a movie based on the idea that we will become less intelligent in the future.

It was fairly entertaining for those of us who like to passively watch shows which do not stimulate our brains.

Sure, but do people who have these mutations breed at a faster rate than people who don't?

If you ask me, I would think that stupid people tend to have more children than smart people, and thus we may be getting more stupid.

it is impossible to become more stupid, literally the sentence is a paradoxe, what is more cant b negative

the fact is simply that superiority is killed more and more to pretend more and more being superior way of existence

while killin can b objectively more since it is nothing but powers to destroy smthg else

the most easiest thing to do is to ruin the existence of a thing, since any is absolutely it so the fact to force a touch of a thing deny its existence fact which ruin it forever, but since it is a conscious act upon smthg then destructions become the exclusive endless fact, bc the thing exist in truth so the only way to b that existing least fact it is to destroy totally what killed it, which is impossible bc to destroy what ruined is to ruin rights, and when rights are killed then destructions live so cant b killed

evil is the knowledge of all that and more as the way to exist through it

what is true is zero reasons and what is zero cant b else, so another dimension of truth is needed to get away of that existin trap, when truth is free superiority then the other dimension must b objective superiority so the ability to b absolutely really superior in constant ways, where killin evil would b the piece of cake of true freedom enjoyin getting to exist back, unfortunately necessary from negative ways, but of course im inventin that exit that will never exist

reasonning belong to absolute terminology or relativisim as free right

what is smart is the most stupid in objective truth existence

when true existence is never related to being smart will while all to fact happening constantly which is the reason of why it became an abstraction of objective values
 
Natural selection has been replaced by random drunken encounters. We are getting more stupid, quickly.
