i understand your psychology and logical approach to religions and holy books but what i cant understand is that many of you seem to be fighting against a god that does not exist.you can criticize the holy books and the believers for having stupid beliefs but you dont need to claim " the god in holy books are so violent, bigot stupid ,etc.." if there is no god.i think he doesnt have to ask your permission to be stupid or not:mrgreen:

your point of view on the concept of god is based on whether there is a proof that god exists..if there is a proof ,we stop calling ourselves" believer" .many of you are intelligent enough to be an atheist but still dont understand what god means to a believer.

So, believers deny non-existence of good and wholesome (gods).
Taken to the logical conclusion, these "good gods" on which literal bible, koran, etc, is based on would mean they are actually violent, bigots, stupid, etc., which is absurd when they are supposed to be omipotent, omniscient, etc. If taken as true, the conclusion is absurd.

You're right that it's kind of silly to even try and assume gods are real, I mean, dragging theists into the mud with constant evidence of how absurd their beliefs are is just petty in most cases. I'm guilty of it less these days than a few years back.

Untrue. Only the most penitent and devout slay for religion.
 
Give it 50-60 years. The atheists will become an organized religion and then they will be the same as the radicals in todays' world.

what is the matter with some atheists is that many of them think god must act like a magician to prove his existence..but many holy books claim that those who were tested through some magical miracles insisted on not believing on god.

so they will never believe if they dont want to feel god..

Militant atheists? You want to give some examples of some militant atheists killing people in the name of atheism? I can give a hundred examples of religionists killing people in the name of their fake religion.

i accept the scientific facts ,and also i am aware of the evolutional process of humans and its effects on teh background of religions.

however i still believe in god.
 
I am not an atheist. Just as you can't prove a gods existence, neither can I disprove it. The universe is vast. The big bang being a cosmic coincidence is a pretty huge leap.

My beef is with the PROPOSED gods, specifically, judeo Christian. Like, just there...auto correct capitalized Christian, but not judeo. Lol. You see, you put forth the god of the bible as being an inherently good individual(s). I disagree, and the evidence I require to support my stance is in the king James bible, it's history, and some of the books left out of the bible. You wanna debate that, I'm game, because there is almost NOTHING I hate more in this world than THAT particular god. I had good friend once who's dead now because of that god. I HOPE he is real, and I PRAY that get a chance to stand before him in judgement when I die. It's not me who'll be judged.

I became an atheist after a good friend started pointing out parts of the bible that contradicted (I ha never read the full thing at that age) my idea's of a flawless perfect being that I called God. He wasn't saying "God did all this bad stuff!" he was saying "why and how could you believe in a God that supposedly did all this stuff?" We aren't criticizing the holy books because we want to make fun of a non-existant entity, we want to demonstrate the absurdities with in the book that many proclaim to be the perfect guide on how one should act and how to live your life. It's a valid argument.

I am fully intelligent enough to know what being a believer means, but that doesn't mean that because you scream faith that everyone must act like atheists can't read your book and point out the absurdities. I don't believe in astrology, but I still cringe while reading mine every sunday while flipping through the paper while laughing about how ridiculous the predictions are.

Because believers are delusional and irrational and their beliefs inform their actions. Then they go out and vote and try to push their religious nonsense on everyone else. If theists would keep their religious BS to themselves, nobody would say a thing. It's the idiots who want to put creationism in the schools, prayer in the schools, religion in the government, etc. that cause secularists to stand up and get rightfully pissed.

Want to know who to blame? Look in the mirror.

i never claimed being militant athe means killing the others...but militant atheists and militant believers seem to resemble each other in terms of having the bigot point of view. ..teh second one kills you because he thinks god is violent and wants him to kill you.the first one thinks god is violent too although he doesnt believe in god.their interpretation of holy books is similar

you(atheists) are always on guard against any word relating to god and always ask evidence...this kind of extermism is not different from those bigots.
