hi, my thesis is on ideologies. and i haven't read any thing yet. but I've thought a lot . and i've reached the conclusion that all the conflicts of the west and Islam are due to this two concepts: freedom and justice. religion limits the freedom but act justly toward poor.do u agree?
by the way , i need a source for studying all of the present ideologies and their related concept! like they say capitalism is derived from the idea of " the survival of the fittest"
thanks

Actually, I would suggest that the West vs. Islam philosophical issues are not about Freedom vs. Justice but rather about Principled vs. Non-Principled. Whether one agrees with the Principles espoused by the Islamic traditions or not, they are well laid out and pretty much cut-and-dried. On the other hand, Western Society pays significant lip service to Principles but rarely actually walks the talk.

In neglecting the economic component, your analyses will always be remiss. Most demonstrably, the Crusades highlighted how even so seemingly ideological a construct as religion, may be subject to the vagaries of less than etheric concerns. At least insofar as any orthodox format defines them.
