A patient in a Tokyo hospital has been left with serious burns after she passed wind during an operation that ignited the laser a surgeon was using during the procedure. The woman, in her 30s, was undergoing surgery at the Tokyo Medical University Hospital which involved a laser being applied to her cervix and lower part of her uterus.

However, as the surgeon carried out the procedure, the patient passed wind as the laser was being used.
It then caused the gas to ignite, sparking a fire, which set her hospital gown and legs ablaze.
She suffered serious burns but is thought to have survived the incident.

Nope the equipment was operating as advertised. Lasers are used to literally burn off specific areas in surgeries. This case was simply a case of bad timing for the poor woman.

I dated this girl for three years that claimed she never pooted. I dissented and always told her, "That's impossible." But she stuck with her story religiously.

So one day I need some aspirin and I'm going through her medicine cabinet and find her bottle of Gas-X. I walked into the living room with pomp and displayed her Gas-X and said "AHA!! I caught you!" And she says, "I told you I don't have gas. I just never explained why."

So, she was in fact right.
 
I'm most terrified thinking about an violent explosion of raging fire 'down there' with no clothes to buffer the blast.
