Thought this story was neat and was worth sharing.

He tried to hide his racist upbringing background while attending college but got outted by another student. Then instead of getting shunned, a Jewish college-mate invited him to Friday Shabbat dinner and then they kept up the Friday dinners and discussion and it opened up the kids mind.

How do you define white nationalism?

The SPLC is pretty radical at the opposite extreme and tends to label any white person a racist who is not on their donor list.

Just read the article. He was raised by the head of the KKK and was the Godson of David Duke.

Anyone can become influenced and/or educated enough to remove themselves from perceived prejudice, racism, or "white nationalism."

The story uses the word racist to describe Black's past beliefs.

I dont know much about him but to be a racist one must believe in the genetic inferiority of other people.

Many people - myself for instance - oppose unrestricted immigration and the stated goal of many to change the demographic makeup of America.

But that does not make me a racist.

This from the story kind of tells the tale of his past being rather racist...

Black had been ready to assume the mantle of his elders: He spoke at white nationalist meetings, launched a white nationalist children’s website, hosted a radio show and won a local election in Florida.

Black was not specific in his letter to the SPLC about what he did or did not believe so we still do not know how he defines the term racist.

But it is possible to not support obama, not support reverse didcrimination, oppose open borders and amnesty for illegal aliens without being a racist.

I don't know what your point is with regards to this thread. The kid in the OP chose to removed himself from his racist past. That in itself says he was racist.

My point is that groups like the SPLC paint with a broad brush and they have more in mind than just adding one contrite college kid to their fold.

My point is what I said.

Its possible in fact probable that most people did not agree with this kid before his conversion but do not agree with him now either.

Gotcha. Wanna address the story now?

I have been addressing the story.

"Racist" is not defined and neither is "white supremacist."

So I really dont know what his views were before.

If he wanted to kill Jews and return black people to slavery then shame on him.

But if the opposite of being a racist is merely to support obama and open borders as the story siggests then the SPLC is likely to find what they call white supremacists behind every tree and bush in America.
