Have any of you guys gone to a class reunion?

What are they for? Who goes to one? And I know of a classmate who avoids them like the plague! For years I did not bother, but I got curious and went to mine.

After all these years I did not recognize anyone, although a few recognized me and even remembered my name. One asked me if I was in the class. We had nice little conversations over nothing. Am not sure if I would want to go to another one.

I have no desire to travel 1,500 miles to visit with folks that I spent 3 years with in HS after 50 years. ;)

I went to the 'night before' get together for my 25th, and saw the pictures of the recent 40th. I didn't see anybody pictured in the 40th I would want to reconnect with. The folks I would want to see are either overseas, on the other side of the country, are, alas, already deceased. I am still amazed that so many of the guys who showed up that became bald wear beards.

They're fun for the guy that got picked on all through high school to show off his hot wife and heavily modified, race prepped 76 corvette.

Facebook has taken a lot of the surprise out of reunions.

"Class Reunions"... are overrated.

Nope, zero interest. Anyone I wanted to keep in touch with after high school, I did. Anyone else, I have no interest in ever seeing again. Why would I waste time hanging around with people I don't like?

No interest at all.

But then when asked why I don't have a Facebook account I usually reply - "If I haven't spoken to you in 30 years there's probably a reason."

having only been out of high school for 5 years now, I don't have an opinion. I guess I'll go if my class has one.

but really I still live within 30 miles of my hometown, and it's not like none of my classmates haven't seen me since we left. I still hangout with friends from school who are still in the area, and that's most of them.

Hehe I love it!

I never really had problems in High School, but in middle school I was picked on relentlessly by this one kid who was kind of the cool kid, after high school he was all kinds of screwed up, in fact if you go to my hometown (Port Orchard, Washington) and go to the Ace Hardware back by where they sell the reinforced mailboxes they have an article from the local newspaper where this guy who bullied me got arrested for stealing mail (to advertise the locking steel mailboxes) I still get a chuckle everytime I go there to buy something and see that article!

Nope, nor do I plan to. My 10-year is coming up (god, time flies). I almost laughed when I was told they'd bothered to invite me (my friend's parents got the invite on my behalf -- long story).

I said everything I had to say to those people when I was there, and I have no interest in them. If I did, I would have stayed in touch.

And I live in lovely London now-a-days anyway. There's a great big ocean between me and that place, and that's how I like it.

I went to my 10 year for the hell of it. A friend and I went stag as neither of our wives wanted to go. It was... meh. Ok, I guess. Never had a desire to go to another one.

I did get to see the girl that I had a HUGE crush on, though... and she was just as gorgeous as she was in high school.

Last year was my 45th class reunion, I didn't go and have never been to any. I do find it sad though that the people that send out the invites still live two blocks from where they grew up and have never traveled.

35th reunion is in 2 weeks. Not going.

Went to 25th, and was almost as friggin bored with those people as I was in High School.
There's a reason I lost touch with most of them.
