Who killed JonBenet Ramsey?

I watched most of that CBS show last night and was unimpressed. Clemente and the former FBI guys and the British woman Linda whoever were performing for the cameras. This was a show.

Yes, yes, the voice analysis stuff was very interesting. The only folks they could find to talk about the case were the 9-1-1 operator who had never been interviewed (and who appeared to me to have been coached), the gardener talking about how Jon Benet would play in the leaves (but Burke did not--dun, dun dun dun) and when OJ was acquitted, how Patsy came out of the house to tell him, and the one who former friend who was dropped forever after talking about the case.

The so-called friend pronounced the Ramseys "hypocrites," and at that point, the producers showed a tiara dropping and breaking. Please, this is theater, shameless theater. I couldn't even believe it.

I agree that it's over-the-top sensationalism. The little boy breaking the skull with a flashlight was way too far for me. I missed some of it - I guess I missed the tiara falling. When they were going over the note, they were making dumb points like -- "who says "listen carefully" - it's a letter - it should say READ carefully".

However, I do think they bring up interesting points that I hadn't heard. I was only 16 when it happened and not really interested in anything other than eyeliner and crushing on boys, so all of the details I never knew are very interesting to me.

Agree the show went a bit over the top so far, still interesting as I was really young when it happened so barely remember any of it. But yeah, the voice thing seemed silly, only the last one was decent, the rest no way you could tell it anything but noise.

The 911 operator struck me as odd as well while she was talking about it, may be right it was coaching (or something). Nitpicking listen carefully (and think there was something else they nitpicked that seemed dumb) was bad.

Still pretty sure it'll end up coming out that it was some Puerto Rican that did it (South Park reference).

He was on Dr. Phil. I didn't see it, but someone said that he was smiling too much while talking about his sister's murder. Kinda creepy.

OMG it was beyond creepy. He had this horrifically weird smile on the entire time.

I think he killed her. I did even before the interview. He had a lot of problems as a child, and was apparently very resentful of her as she was the little darling. I think he hit her with the Maglite and I think his parents covered it up.

Pretty sure that's what the investigators on CBS are going to conclude as well.

I thought it was interesting how the 911 operator said she heard Patsy say "Okay, we called the police - now what?" and the investigators didn't hear that at all.

I didn't see the show. I did Tivo it and am anxious to check it out.

Burke apparently had issues as a youth with spreading his feces in inappropriate places, among other things.

I don't think he killed her intentionally, by the way. I think it was accidental. But I'm pretty convinced he did it. I doubt we'll ever really know, though.

I don't think we will ever know unless there is a confession. And speaking of confessions, I believe there have been a couple. One guy who confessed killed himself. JonBenet Ramsey's REAL murderer is Michael Helgoth, private investigator claims | Daily Mail Online

I don't think it's fair to Burke Ramsey to be trying him and pronouncing him guilty in the court of public opinion.

They talked about that guy in the TLC documentary. They did find a shoe print that didn't belong to anyone in the house, so it's possible there was an intruder. The pineapple thing bothers me, though --- who was up in the middle of the night getting her pineapple to eat?

There's a lot that has bugged me from the beginning. I'm drawing on memory here, but as I recall, Jon Benet was a bed-wetter, and urine-soaked sheets were found in the upstairs washing machine, leading to speculation that Patsy Ramsey let her temper get out of control?

Do I also recall correctly that graphologists said the writer of the note was left-handed and Patsy was left-handed?

One point made last night that I found compelling (beyond the very length of the ransom note) was that all the "i's" were dotted precisely. Where you dot your "i's" and cross your "t's" is always significant.

The stun gun demo they just did was telling --- it didn't leave the marks found on JonBenet and it would've made her yell out from the jolt. Also, the spiderweb in the corner of the window pretty much had me convinced no one came into or out of that window.

The rambling ransom note, to me, signals silly cover-up of an inside job.

This, and don't forget the discarded practice notes they found. Hardly supportive of an ultra stealthy burglar theory.

Consider too that our alleged ninja clearly had the run of the house, and opportunity to do whatever they wanted with JonBenet, yet they settle for brutally murdering her and abandoning the body?

We're likely never know for certain, but I'm convinced it was Patsy Ramsey, whether intentional or not.

The conclusion is happening right now. They have said that there probably was no sexual assault. They all believe that Burke unintentionally killed JonBenet.

Didn't watch the show but how was the precise mention of the dad's bonus explained?

So her 9 year old brother strangled her and fractured her skull? Ridiculous.

They believe that Burke got mad at her and hit her with a flashlight, but didn't realize how damaging the heavy flashlight would be to her skull. Then the parents got involved and did the rest of it to protect him.

So these "experts" think her 9 year old bro smashed her skull in with a flashlight and the parents strangled her? No wonder this case is still unsolved.

The flashlight theory is sound, and a forensic pathologist explained and showed exactly how the fracture could have occurred. Some of the "experts" actually are "experts" in their intimate familiarity with the case, both cops and FBI personnel.

Just because a theory is plausible, however, doesn't mean that it's correct. Unless there is a confession, no one will ever know what happened to Jon Benet, and there will be no justice for her. But indicting her brother in the court of public opinion in this way is very unfair.

I dont buy it. If Burke killed her with a flashlight, then why was she strangled as well?

Agreed.

They aren't supposed experts.

Dr. Henry Lee -- forensic scientist
Jim Fitzgerald - forensic linguist
James Kolar - investigator for Boulder D.A.
Stan Burke - statement analyst
Dr. Werner Spitz - forensic pathologist
Jim Clemente - retired FBI profiler
Laura Richards - former Scotland Yard behavior analyst

We'll never really know who did it, but they brought up some excellent points. There is no way that someone came through that basement window that night without disturbing the spiderwebs in the corner of the window. Someone in the house had to have done it.

I'm always fascinated by mysteries. Six year old JonBenet Ramsey was murdered 20 years ago and her murder has never been solved. Everyone has an opinion, although it seems like almost everyone believes that someone in the house that night killed her. Anyone else interested in this case and going to watch the shows on it this weekend?

My money's on a pedophile who toured their home a few days before the murder on a Christmas walk and either hid in the house or broke in thru the basement window. What authorities put this family through ought to be a crime.

My opinion is based on unknown male DNA in her panties, the waistband of her longjohns and under her fingernails...all matching. WHICH!! the top cop said probably belonged to a factory worker in China. REALLY.??

And, the pedo spent time writing a ransom note asking for exactly the amount of daddy's bonus? Oh, spent time to not only write one note, but also a rough draft?

The dead mom did it.

And yet the DA moved the investigation from the PD and completely cleared all three of them. Unless mom was psychotic or heavily under the influence of street drugs, there is no way she killed her own child. There is absolutely nothing but rampant WAGing to get one there. "Somebody had to do it. Must have been her."

Poor woman.

That's exactly what I said yesterday. I believe Burke did it, and it was not intentional. And I believe his parents covered up for him.

Well...she did dress the poor little kid up to look like a tart.

And right there is the reason so many think she's guilty. Right? Re THAT, I think people who do that are nut jobs. And the parent that stands back and watches it happen is negligent. Ought to be illegal child abuse, IMO.
