Bad ass! Open the butterflys an eighth of an inch and the whole car jumps. I love drag racing!

It's the sound and the power. I have a speakers and a sub woofer hooked up, so it sounds good. But you can still here the RPMs flatten out the mic.

I bought a color video camera when they first hit the market and would get a press pass to be right in the hole. The fueled cars magnetos and the headers would really distort the view finder and the video with the vibration.

I'll listen again today with my JBLs hooked up to a 1200w QSC amp. I couldn't crank it at work yesterday. I love when they race. Sitting in the stands, earplugs in, when the cars reach parallax, the sound feels like it's melting my face off.

Great times!

I hope you use earplugs down in the hole. What? What did you say? Lol!

Because some people don't like to learn how to corner.

"Drag racing is for fast cars, road racing is for fast drivers."

Road racing is for people who don't wanna go that fast ;)

When I saw Jet57 was opening up a thread about Drag racing, I thought it was something like this

Who is "we"? Not me.

So, I take it you don't like the deep sound of power from a fueled 426 Hemi?

I mean, did you even click on the link and go to 2:15 when the switch from alcohol to nitromethane?

That's rocket fuel ya'know.

You should listen to it: that's why "we love drag racing".

No. I'm afraid I'd rather look at the majestic beauty of an oak than at a car, or listen to one. Drag cars disrupt the environment in several ways, including noise.

But I'm not a guy. So that may be it.

Well then, so you showed at my cool thread just to complain?

I go to Muir Woods often: in fact I proposed to my wife there. But I know what's cool when I see it.

No...I wanted to know who "we" was that you were referring to. Which is, as you may recall, exactly what I asked. You never answered.

"We" - are all the cool people.

Now that you've seen HOW the driver does it. Let's watch WHAT he does:

Why do the drivers dress so funny?

Here's why:

The best example of "turn in the direction of the skid" you're ever going to see.

Straight line. 5 seconds. Meh.....boring.....

Add hills, dips, and CORNERS, along with those straightaways - now you've got something.

Uh, that would be 3.671 seconds on the quarter mile.

That's fast.
