?Grease? fan theory claims Sandy and Danny were actually dead - NY Daily News

Basically the theory is that from the beginning both Danny and Sandy are dead and the storyline is Danny's dream. In "Summer Lovin'", Danny sings "I saved her life - she nearly drowned." Except he didn't save her -- they drowned. And at the end of the movie (dream), they ride off into the sky (aka Heaven).

I enjoy twisted theories like this even if it's not true. :)

Move was made in the late 70s, there were plenty of drugs with psychedelic side effects available, anything is possible...

This is the Internet rumor de jour because the car "drives up toward heaven." But there was a sequel with Michelle Pfeiffer, so "Sandy" did live.

The actor who played "Cha-Cha" really is dead, though.

Josie, did you see "Grease Live!"? It's fantastic.

I could buy it. Sure, why not?

The sequel took place only 2 years after the original so the theory still could be true. In Grease 2, the only relation to the character Sandy that I know of is Michelle Pfeiffer's love interest - he is Sandy's cousin. God, that was an awful movie.

Yes, I did. I loved it. I thought the one I saw onstage not long before that was just as good -- and that was community theater. It was one of the best shows I've seen by a community theater cast -- and I've seen a bunch.

I was just thrilled by the "Grease Live!" performances. No do-overs with live theater and music. Amazing performances. Vanessa Hudgen's singing Rizzo's song was amazing. I loved Stockard Channings's original, but she's not a singer.

A-w-f-u-l. Laugh-out-loud ghastly.

She was great. I love almost all musical theater. I say "almost all" because CATS exists. *shudders*

I've never seen the whole show live. Are you allowed to say anything critical about "Cats"?

I say it loud and proud. I was about 15 minutes into the show and I wanted to walk out.

Here's hoping no felineophiles are reading this thread. ;)

Hey, the tire takes the one cat to heaven at the end!

In my world Olivia Newton John will never be dead.

I saw her and John Denver about the time Let Me Be There came out and was a fan even through Xanadu and was crushed when she got married.

She's still beautiful; I just wish she hadn't had so much work done.

BTW, her only child, Chloe, is all over the news because of her horrendous plastic surgeries.

I still have a crush on her. Have always liked her. Saw her in 1976, Have You Never Been Mellow era. Hudson Brothers opened. My first ever concert.
