To be to civil and in many ways the fear of offending has got us in the trouble we are in today. Freedom of speech, TRUE freedom of speech is not found where the most civil is but where you are most likely to be offended.
The very idea that PC speech is just being polite is crap. Honesty can be brutal and gruff.

When you demand the world be civil you stifle the voices of what may be truthful and legit complaints. You will never have honest politics until you have honest thought and speech. If its your intent to control words then what is the point thinking?

I have had two threads shut down here my FIRST day NOT for what I said but what other members said.
One of all things was my hello thread. Is that a liberal tactic here? Just get stupid and shut down the new conservatives thread?

It would seem to me anyway you liberals act out fear. Moderation is fine in its place but when members USE moderation by their own actions to discourage/block new membership then its to highly restricted.
Mao once said "Politics comes from the barrel of a gun" and civility has never played a role in any political change in any country in the world.

Much of Asia and Europe was settled at the edge of a sword and much if not all of western culture was at the barrel of a gun.

Don't you think it's possible to be civil AND be honest? I do.
