US Pirate Party Platform Committee

Note: the moderators and admins gave me permission to post this here. They are doing so as a personal favor, and do not support or endorse the United States Pirate Party in any fashion.

I've recently been named head of the US Pirate Party's Platform Committee, responsible for writing the party's platform for 2016 and moving forward. The Pirate Party stands for digital and personal freedom, privacy and security, government transparency and accountability, and rational, evidence-based government. We're trying to transform the American political system into something that serves the people instead of trying to control them. The philosophy and policies of the international Pirate Party movement can be found at the Pirate Wheel; this is what we are working to adapt for the American political climate.

I am looking for volunteers who embrace the Pirate Party's ethos of freedom, democracy, and responsibility to help me develop our overall policy goals and express them to appeal to the American voter. This is your opportunity to make your voice heard in a worldwide political movement, and your opportunity to help change America for the better. The PP stands for theft of intellectual property they are unwilling to pay for. I think you should start the platform with why theft is good, and the working men and women whose livelihoods you are ****ing over had it coming to them.

I love it when people who argue against government interference in the economy try to lecture me about copyright reform being theft. It's so deliciously hypocritical, and it's somehow strangely reassuring to know that my political opponents aren't arguing in good faith.
