Are you offended by this poster?

Is the offense that the poster has all the non-white kids breaking rules and all the white kids behaving?

Of course, not all the white kids are behaving and not all the non-whites are misbehaving . . . but that never counts when trying to stir the racist pot.

Sure...except so far, I am not seeing a whole lot of wicked crazy offended conservatives...just an OP pointing out the stupidity of liberals that WERE losing their **** over it.

Was it 'wrong' for the OP to point out the stupidity of liberals losing their **** over this? Did that indicate to you she was 'offended' by the liberals being offended?

i don't recall saying anything about the poster who started this thread one way or the other. i was making an observation about liberals and right wingers in general.

Well no...actually you ignored the liberals that made it an issue and a worldwide 'news' story and trotted out the always reliable "faux news!!! Faux news! Ohmigawd!!! Faux News!!!" comment. I mean...if we are being honest.

i don't know if she was offended or not. ask her.

just went and checked, and i can't find it on the fox website yet; just the affiliates.

Riiiiiiiiiight. Which was kinda my point.

Good post.
I got to google "hairy buffalo".
What a great poolside drink.....no glass containers, please.

we used to make it in a big plastic trash can (a new one) for frat parties when i was a nineteen year old kid.. i wasn't much of a drinker then. my job was to watch the door; or, more specifically, to help people find the door. to paraphrase Joe Walsh, it's hard to leave when you can't find it.

Extra points for the Joe Walsh reference.

I feel like I'm being talked about..... **ears burning**

I did think when I first saw your thread title that this was a call out thread.

You do have the chick on the bottom right-hand side pushing the other girl in the pool.

That's part cisgendered of you to be assigning h(ie)(mr) a default gender like that.

I think are obvious reasons for eyebrow raising.

The dark-skinned kid who is diving is not doing anything wrong
(he is far enough from the swimmer not to pose a danger). And if
he is not cool then the light-skinned kid is swimming too close
to the diving area, and she ought to get a not-cool label too.

The dark-skinned kid in the middle of the pool on the other side
of the rope from the diver is not doing a damn thing wrong. He is
getting blamed for nothing.

I don't see why the light-skinned kid holding the baby should be
singled out for being cool when there are eight other kids who are
also being cool as far as I can tell.

The runners and the pusher are misbehaving, and 2/3 are dark-skinned.

On the other hand it is not clear why the light-skinned kid with the bottle
is not cool, because you can't tell if the bottle is glass (do they even make
glass bottles any more?), and I have been to plenty of pools where plastic
and metal drink cans are allowed.

All in all it is a stupid poster and should be replaced. It would be more
fair if the light-skinned guy with the baby was being uncool for holding
the baby upside down by the ankles and swinging it around in a circle,
or something like that.

Even better would be if the light-skinned boy life guard and the dark-
skinned girl life guard were off in a corner neglecting their duties and
making out.

What is the odds of all the dark kids being bad and white kids all being cool, you know, completely by chance? Had I just seen the poster at the Y I would have never thought of it, but if you look at it, yea, it is very obvious.

Seems to me that's the problem. Too often people spend way too much time to find something offensive.

I find blue whales with whistles very offensive but I do see what some could be offended about. All the little misbehavers are dark than the cool kids.

No they're not, the one at the top and bottom are white.

Can't dive head-first, I guess. I don't understand what the kid on the other side of the divider is doing.

Isn't that the definition of what a dive is?

I dunno, I am getting kinda bored with this one, but it looks to me like the one at the bottom of the pool the arrow is pointing at the little dark kid pushing the white girl in, and on top the arrow is pointing at two running kids and pointing at the dark one.

It is unfortunate that the "bad kids" were brown. Whether it was intentional or not? Who knows?

Except for the ones that are not. Funny how many people "just happen" to miss the white kids being labeled as bad.

Actually the arrow is pointing at the puddle of water between them. The poster is aqua phobic.

Its on national news. Hell...its made it to the international news markets. ABC, NBC, Chicago Trib, Time, NBC, etc. Thats the ridiculous irony. Everything ABOUT this story is 'liberal', from the person that was 'superoffended' to the markets that pimped it...yet, all you can see is 'conservatives'?

Probably says more about you than it does about anything else, really.

Although, I have noticed the same trend with people being over offended. I have to say, Faux News is an evil institution poisoning the minds of our elderly(the only people I am aware of who still watch them). And shouldn't be considered actual journalism. Where as NBC, just blows stuff out of proportion more often than not. And makes mountains out of molehills.

As for the poster, I bet the artist didn't even realize what he did. He probably drew em all in photoshop then went through bucket painting the kids in an alternating pattern. I have accidentally done three racist works of art, like that. So I know how that goes.

I am offended by the sexism in that picture...

Well let's look at this somewhat clinically. By my count there are 5 things labeled "not cool" and out of those 5, 4 involve someone with darker skin. There are two "cool" labels and both are white.
