No Federal Tax Refund!

My accountant screwed up big time and sent an incorrect letter telling me I needed to pay additional taxes to the state and the feds (after I already paid).
I went ahead and dished out another $2K+ (ouch, damn it!). Three weeks later the state sent me a refund check. But I have not heard from uncle sam. Anyway I can get a refund? I sure could use the $!
 
You need to call the IRS and find out how they applied the additional payment. What they did with it depends on what form you sent the payment in with.
