While I was recuperating at home from pneumonia, I decided to try Peapod. What a blessing. And I'm still using that service...a super-easy website to navigate and groceries delivered to your kitchen the next day. For the first 60 days delivery is free. Minimum order is $60. After that 60-day freebie, delivery is $9.95 or less depending on the size of one's order.

The prices are comparable to major chain grocers, there are sales, and they give double coupon value up to $2.00. I don't think it costs me one cent extra since i pulse buying is kept to a minimum. They have just about anything would want. And their produce is a work of art.

if you have Peapod in your area, don't hesitate to try them. I think it would be an absolute Godsend for seniors with health or balance issues...or those who don't drive much anymore.

Cimmercial over. ;)

One of our local news stations did a segment on the several services in the Houston area.
The stores are not the same as your area, but the concepts are the same.
If this is the route you are going, the story may give you a heads up, in what to watch out for.

cool, i think there's a big niche for a 'we'll go buy anything local and deliver it' service.

Thanks for the commercial. I will check it out immediately.
More important, it's good to see you more active again.

I didn't know you were ill. Glad you're better. :)

Anyway, I remember when Peapod and some other similar service first came out. They have struggled for a long time, but I think it's a great concept, just ahead of it's time.

I tried it a couple of times, but it always seemed that if I had them deliver meat, they would pick the meat closest to expiration from the shelves...
