No Jeans Allowed! 6 Places Where You Should Never Wear Denim

No mater what you think of jeans jorts aren't allowed anywhere anytime.

Thank goodness. Now, let's ban skinny jeans on guys. They are NOT the look.

You were both correct IMO

Most of the advice columns that I've read said that nice black jeans are expectable to wear to funerals.....but blue jeans are not.

It took me 45 years to finally realize Khakis are much more comfortable to work in.

Shorts are the most comfortable, with a T Shirt.......I work at home!

I agree! I quit wearing them over 20 years ago.

I'd add church as a place to never wear them. Sadly, others don't agree. I was shocked when, a few years ago, I went to a service for the first time in many, many years and found people wearing jeans.
Most non denominational churches these days are casual affairs, and I find nothing wrong with that. More important that you attend than what you wear. Not that I advocate wearing shabby clothes to church. But a nice pair of jeans and a polo or button shirt is perfectly acceptable. In the summer, I even wear shorts.

I grew up going to church every Sunday and we had to dress up, meaning I, as a female, had to wear a dress. My brother had to wear dress pants and shirt. Nobody wore jeans to services in our church.

Nothing wrong with that either. :)

Not into emo metrosexuals either. ;)

I have more dress clothes than jeans, I think I have 3 pairs of jeans, but I have something like 11 suits. Off work though, I wear jeans almost exclusively.

I'm fortunate. I wear jeans AT work.

I recently wore a pair of black jeans and nice blouse to a funeral and my sister criticized me for it. Later that same day, I criticized her for using her cell phone at the dinner table. Then we got into a big fight and haven't spoken to each other since.

I've heard many stories about things like that happening at funerals. At my godmother's funeral, my mother and my godmother's daughter, friends for 30 years, got into an argument about makeup. They never spoke again. Both are gone, now. Funerals tend to heighten emotions and it's important to remember this when fights at such events happen. The emotions about the event can seep into small fights and create situations that can affect relationships for a long time.

In this case, unfortunately, the emotions have been brewing for years...probably since childhood.

I work as a starter at a county golf course in New Jersey. We have five country courses...and jeans are not allowed for play at any of them. And ya gotta have a collared shirt.

I worked at Plum Creek golf course in Kyle TX, as a maintenance worker, and it had the same dress code.

Yup...yet these would be allowed:

What's a "starter"?

A starter is the guy or gal who controls the initial tee area...starting the golfers out onto the golf course.

Lots of old geezers like me are starters. Pay is punk...but one of the benefits is "free golf."

I was also a henway at one time. Now...ask the same question about that!

Ok. Interesting. I haven't played golf in years, but when I did I played mostly rural municipal courses, and we just wandered out there on our own.

We also wore jeans, but they weren't very practical. Didn't allow enough proper movement.

Are you guilty of any of these?

My wife's first answer was "funeral", and it wasn't on the list.

5 and 6? I'll wear what I please.

Back before I had money, I'd probably dress nicer for 6. lol

I agree on 5, it's up there with dressing nice to go out to dinner. Why would it matter and do people really think the performers care if you wear jeans/shorts/etc?
