Major winter storm forecast for Northeast - CNN.com

So...we gonna get smacked? Is it gonna fizzle out? What do you predict based on today's forecast?

Also - are you happy about it? Dreading it? Can't wait? Leaving town?

At least it's supposed to hit on a Friday night/Saturday time frame.
Better get to grocery store and buy your 5 dozen eggs, 12 loaves of bread, 3 cases of milk, and ......

Seriously, I miss December's warmth, and I sincerely hope this is a one-and-done storm for the entire winter of 2016.

One more reason I want to retire to someplace where palm trees survive outside naturally.

Better make sure my snowblower is prepped and ready to go.
I changed the oil a month ago, but now I guess I need to fill it with gasoline.

We have definitely been spoiled this winter so I guess we are due.

I saw quite enough of snow in MA last year...

I've seen enough snow to last me the rest of my life, but I don't think that matters much to Mother Nature and what she's brewing up for this weekend.

Make sure you prep. If you don't, that will insure it clobbers where ever you are.

4 inches of snow..followed by icy rain tonight, followed by snow showers through Sunday. I'm thankful for having an All wheel drive vehicle at this rate..

I am heading to my truck in a few minutes.

Heading over to the VDOT salt sheds for a load.

12 hours of sitting on the side of I-64 with a few salt spreads on the overpasses.

So far the forecasters have been right. Snow started falling damn near right around 6:45pm and has started sticking to streets and sidewalks as of 7;15pm.
Wind hasn't started whipping yet....but I'm guessing that's coming soon.

Not a good time to be a Chihuahua owner. Let alone two. Time to set up garage potty station. :(

I've been stuck at my house and bored out of my mind for a few days now. I'm hoping the kids will finally go back to school tomorrow. Go away, winter!

We ended up with 14 -18 inches of snow. Fortunately for my area the high winds never really showed up. The beach areas got hammered though. Very bad flooding down there.

Today was sunny and a great day to clean up all the snow just in time for Monday. No rush.

63 degrees today :)
