How would you like to die?

Here at the 10 leading causes of death in the USA. Seems most of them are disease related, all but two in fact:

[h=2]Top 10 leading causes of death[/h]

Since death and taxes are inevitable, we need to be aware of how we're most likely to die, and, perhaps, be able to pick out the least painful way.

Personally, I want to die young, as late in life as possible.

lol

Whatever is my fate, I would vastly prefer that it is quick and neither dishonorable nor messy.

I want to pass away peacefully in my sleep, like Grandpa.
And not terrified and screaming, like his passengers.

"Former President CPWILL Died Last Night at age 127 while 'exercising' in bed with 6 twenty-something young ladies described as 'nurses'. President CPWILL is fondly remembered as the man who rebuilt America into the Solar-System-Wide-Empire-Of-Liberty-And-Awesomeness-That-It-Is; a year of mourning has been declared by the government. The life celebration is to be funded by the CPWILL Foundation, in which the late multi-billionaire is rumored to have accumulated incredible riches that he spent mostly on guns and bacon, and will be open-bar. The event is expected to draw 15 million people, and will be held in the Grand Canyon. Police have set up barricades around the likely tomb spot in order to stop young women from climbing in and committing suicide in their grief."

Sorry, but death is not a certainty. There are literally billions of people who have never died, and you cannot prove that every single one of them will die.

Disclaimer: The above is an example of what some here at Debate Politics consider a valid debate point/tactic.

Greetings, PoS. :2wave:

 To have lived to be 65 years old in the 1200s in the first place is one thing, but still leading his men into battle is remarkable! Not a bad way to go!

Off topic, but I wanted to let you know that I couldn't put The Glooming down! I was a bit under the weather yesterday so I read instead of working around the house. I'm nearing the end of the book, and I know I'm going to be looking forward to your next book, which I will also purchase! Good job, and I can't imagine the amount of research it took to write it!

Hi polgara, there have been conflicting reports on how Genghis died but my favorite of them is how he passed away while in bed with a beautiful princess.

(And thanks for the compliments btw, when a reader tells me they cant put the book down it means Ive done my job and its the best compliment I could ever get. I'll PM you with some updates soon! )

Did she poison him?

I heard that happened to Attila, not sure about Genghis though. The one story I read on Genghis was that he got a heart attack while climaxing.

He was a pretty active guy, busily passing his genes on to the next generations.

1 in 200 men direct descendants of Genghis Khan

Now, if cpwill's scenario becomes reality, he just may have as many descendants 1,000 years from now.

I would like to drown, out in the middle of an ocean.

I'd like to fall out of a large tree.

No, actually, I'd like to die while saving someone else, whether it's fire, drowing, battle, etc...that would be the best way to go, imo. It would be great closure for my loved ones as well.

I would like to die fighting for a cause I believe in.

As far as that's concerned, I've got to admit that I've always found the idea of doing a "suicide run" in an aircraft kind of appealing.

Not doing so as an explicit mission, mind you - that's messed up. However, crashing your aircraft into an enemy ship, structure, tank, fortification or etca as a last ditch action when you're probably going to simply crash and die anyway is actually a rather quick, painless, and dashing way to go.

A few American pilots did that during WW2, and they're still remembered today as heroes.

if heart disease can be mated with a whorehouse heart attack, that would be the way I want to go.

I want to die in about 50 years or so, fighting a bear (just like Brad Pitt, in "Legends of the Fall") in the woods of Maine, where I currently live. :)

There is no death, there is the force.

Oh to be 10 years old and that naive again.

I like irony, so I'd like to die while walking through the cemetery or watching the movie Alive or listening to Stayin' Alive...

Quick.

In a battle of Good Vs. Evil, charging madly against impossible odds, spending my last breath to strike a final blow.

Something like this would do nicely:

I don't care how I die, as long as it's before the Alzheimer's gets me. If there's anything I truly fear in this world beyond anything else, it's the inevitable decay of my mental faculties.

"Blade with whom I have lived,
blade with whom I now die,
serve right and justice one last time,
seek one last heart of evil,
still one last life of pain,
cut well, old friend, and then farewell."

Heart disease, probably, since it seems the least painful? Esp if it's quick and/or I go in my sleep. I would prefer suicide to some of those other options, like Alzheimer's.
