"I'll take the bullet for you."

Why all the fuss about this? I doubt he'd still say that without a bullet proof vest on.


Depends on what kind of firepower being used. Sometimes bulletproof vests aren't enough protection.

Anyway, with or without a bullet proof vest, I think he tried his best to reassure them.
 
Oh brother. But yet with all those officers with bulletproof vest on, you see them crouching behind patrol cars in the shootout.

Not to mention that bullet proof vest does not prevent a head shot.
 
The way I get the video, he actually seemed to mean and assure people that since he's in front of them, he'll be shot first. Not that he'll gladly take a bullet for them using his body armor/body/skull.
 
Other than a few years I was in the army, I have spent my entire life in San bernardino county. I have always thought our sheriffs department was top shelf and very professional. I never had a bad thought toward the department. Five star!
