I work at a warehouse so I have to walk a lot and walk very fast or I get low rate. I recently got a ingrown toe nail which I think was caused by my shoes. It does not hurt but its numb and the ingrown nail is cutting off circulation. I not sure how long I can not have circulation before my toe just starts to die so I am worried. ER takes awhile and are very severe about it. I heard that pedicurist can fix ingrown toe nails does anyone know what other places you can go to fix this? Its way too deep for me to fix it myself at this point.

You seem to think this is an advice forum full of armchair experts.

Well, my advice is always going to be the same, go see a REAL expert, or at least peruse a primary research source.

Therefore, why not go see a doctor to find out what it actually is instead of assuming anything?

See. A. ****ing. Doctor. I hate to be crass but the majority of your plights can be resolved much easier, and much more efficiently by medical experts than myself or anyone else on DP could.

Go to the doctor. Why are you asking people on a political forum about medical issues?

Rather than criticize you for seeking help in an inappropriate place, I'd simply encourage you to take the time to see a doctor. If your employer doesn't offer a health plan, visit a clinic instead of an ER. There are a multitude of medical problems you may be experiencing here and the ingrown toe nail may not be the culprit. It could be anything from a symptom of diabetes to gout or nerve damage. Better to spend a few dollars to get a true medical diagnosis instead of taking the risk that you may end up losing your toe or worse.

Back in my bar hopping days I was a podiatrist. And so, you never know, we might be able to cure that little cuticle without cutlery. I probably would have recommended one or two drinks to relax the failing phalange and then a full frontal examination.

Completely agreed with others, go see a doctor to ensure something is not really wrong.

The Logical solution is see a healthcare provider.

Do nothing. See what happens for curiosity's sake.

i have had many ingrown toenails over the years

they affect some people more than others

the last time, they took entire nail off....no big deal

sore for a couple of days....a few aleve....no other pain meds

that toe has been perfect since

go see a doctor...and they will fix it

Never mind, forget the reasonable and obvious seek of medical advice. It is clear the OP wants another suggestion, so here is my new suggestion...

Go to any urgent care. I do about 3 of these a week, very easy to take care of with little chance of recurrence.

I take care of mine before they get that far. I even have a pair of heavy curved snips just for this. You have to push downward at and angle until the snips are past the edge of the nail to avoid leaving a little spur that starts the process all over again. Not gonna lie, it hurts, but it's bearable and the relief is instant. The trick is to sit cross legged on a hard chair for a while until the affected foot is asleep. Maintaining it is just a matter of keeping the edges trimmed back at an angle so they push the skin away instead of hooking in to it. I don't really have the option of not squatting in boots, it's something to be aware of and maintain.

An interesting tip: when planning a hiking trip or long run, the best bet is to trim your toenails a week before your event. It gives your toes time to relax in to the new shape and the sharp trimmed edges to smooth. Many a hiking trip has been ruined by improper nail care. The downhills are the worst as your toes are beat into the toebox of your boots. My wife once lost both big toe nails after a hike over Blood Mountain on the AT.

Another trick is to cut a "v" into the nail edge, it relieves some pressure on both lateral edges of the nail.

Take a potato that has been grown in your area with some dirt still on it. Cut it in half, cut one of the halves in half again. Take one of those pieces and put it in a sock, soak the sock and all ice in cold water then put it on the foot in question.

Make a fire and burn the other quarter potato then bury the ashes and the half potato in the back yard.

This will do absolutely nothing for your toe, but having all those things to do with a wet potato in your sock might convince to go to a ****ing doctor

Oh, for God's sake. Go to the ER.
