Remember Martin Shkreli , who bought the rights to manufacture a pill that is needed by Aids patients and was selling for 13.50 a pill, and jacked the price up to 750??

Well, another company has decided to make another generic of that very same drug, and is going to be charging 99 cents per pill (that is 99 dollars for a 100 count). I suspect it is to first of all, head off the potential of having the industry be burdened by regulations, since people were talking about laws being put into place, and second of all, to embarrass the hell out of Shkreli

Point of information: It is NOT "that very same drug." It is an alternative that might work in a similar way.

The active ingredient is the same. It also has another drug that is used to counter the effects of the first drug. It is a different formulation of basically two other drugs.

Healthcare is a business.
It is the product of another's efforts, as such, they have the right to dictate what it costs.

maybe so, but it is still very disingenuous and hurts people.

And they are supposed to determine costs by what the market will bear.

Disingenuous? Not.
Their in nothing disingenuous about making a profit.

and hurts people.
And?
The people are not directly harmed as they are not entitled to the product of another's effort.

And they are supposed to determine costs by what the market will bear.
1. Supposed to? That is not a requirement.
2. That determination is left up to them.
3. And supposedly this is what the market will bear.
