What is a tarot card reading? What is it suppose to do? I had one done on a whim at a fair event and came away rather skeptical.

You were just skeptical and not fully blown away with the audacity of people having the balls to scam folks who are apparently vulnerable to charlatans?

I recall once going to a psychic fair and a friend of mine had her fortune told (I don't recall how, it was either tarot cards or maybe palm reading) and what I heard was the psychic making such general statements that they could apply to nearly anybody, but she came away believing he was uncannily accurate. I guess it's all a matter of perspective.

Keep at it till the skepticism fades.

Why would anyone want the skepticism to fade? If anything, you want it to be much stronger. Maybe people ought to stop believing in idiotic woo garbage.

There is also the 'want to believe' and 'vague generalities'.

I have nothing wrong with tarot card reading, as long as it's done in fun, and not taken seriously. The problem is people take it too seriously and get sucked in, and dependent. It basically a poor mans psychologist, or a paid 'dear abbey' being masked as 'psychic powers.' Too many people like to be told what to do, and that can be abused by people who are unethical

I went to one too at a swap meet and in the middle the "psychic" got a phone call and when she looked at it to see who it was, my husband just started at her about as a psychic she should already know who was calling. He just wouldn't let it go and kept razzing her about it until finally she stopped the whole reading and told us to leave because we were giving her bad vibes.

There's no real point, it's really just a game. Some people take it a bit more seriously and think it has some actual powers of prediction, but it's all nonsense.

Your hubby sounds like a cool duded, because that sounds EXACTLY like something I would do, lol. I'm like a dog with a bone...I just won't let up.
