Ladies: Do you use the word "blouse"?
My wife took my mom (who is 79) shopping for a "blouse" today. We were talking and she was saying that she never uses that word. To her, they're just shirts, or maybe rarely "tops". My mom, however, kept calling it a "blouse".
When I look it up, "blouse" is a very specific type of shirt/top, though I suspect many people use it generically.
Seems to be that the term "blouse" is a generational thing and is falling into disuse.
