How to Tell If You’re a Digital Hoarder

there is no downside to digital hoarding. These people have obviously never used the search function. I have never deleted an email from my gmail account simply because I dont have to. 10 years and 35,000 emails on my gmail account and im only at 30% of storage space, why should I waste the time to delete all that?

Holy crap, I suddenly feel much better about myself. Thanks! :)

I don't hoard at all. E-mails get read and deleted unless I need to keep them. I routinely delete things that I no longer need. If I have no reason to keep it around, it goes away. That goes for digital and physical things.

I have a confession to make. I'm a digital hoarder. Not quite as bad as the worst case scenario portrayed here, but still...

i do it,mostly with emails and texts, but i have been burned in the past deleting emails, which may suddenly become handy a year or two down the line, especially with military emails.

I'm so the opposite IRL and digital life. I'm always paring down and trying to be lean. To a fault sometimes because I do get rid of things I could later use but... I can't stand having a lot of stuff around that I haven't touched in over a year. I'm constantly in a battle with my wife who like acquiring stuff. I don't see the need for stuff that just takes up all the flat surface spaces in the house and never moves. Digitally, I uninstall stuff all the time as well. I'm suspicioius of parasitic bloatware that comes with every download of things you actually do want so I peruse my applications and just start uninstalling.

I'm gonna blow all of your minds.

Aside from work, I now no longer have a cell phone, email, facebook, or any other online foot print, other than this place and corvette forums. And it's totally awesome.

I don't have any social media either. Most annoying forms of communication ever.

No but it has no use on a windows computer. And even with crtl+A, del is not any use since there plenty of e-mails that I want to keep like all the ones my now deceased father sent me.

The only thing I hoard is music.

Movies? I normally stream them, watch them and that's it. The few times I download movies I watch them and delete them. I never watch movies twice.

Photos? Any picture I take with my tablet or phone gets uploaded to multiple locations in the cloud and I delete most photos from my devices.

Programs? Every 3 months or so, I go through my devices. If I haven't used stuff, I uninstall it. If I find I need it again, I download and install it again.
