I currently use an old fashion Double Edge safety razor ( Gillette super speed from 1953) with a traditional shaving mug, brush and cream to make my lather. I'm getting ready to move on and try a straight edge razor for my shaving. So I was wondering how do you guys shave in the morning and what products do you recommended for shaving?

triple blade Gillette for trim, usually, though i had to buy a new one on vacation, and it has 6,527 blades. i mostly use a beard trimmer.

Whatever's handy at the moment. I wait until it starts to bother me or the grandkids are coming over and then do the deed.

At some point, before I was old enough to shave, an uncle gave me a couple of his old Norelco electric razors.

When I started shaving, it was with the better of those two. When my younger brother started shaving, I gave him the lesser of those two Norelcos.

To this day, I continue to strongly prefer Norelco shavers. On some occasion, that I had to see what my brother was using, a few years ago, it was also a Norelco.

This uncle was sort of the “black sheep” of the family; he eventually alienated the rest of the family; I think I was one of the last to still be in any touch with him; and he passed away some years ago. But it seems he's had that influence on my brother and I, that we both continue to prefer Norelco razors. My father always went for the cheap buzzy electric razors.

Although I refuse to shave my beard, if I were to have a sudden lapse of judgement I'd probably use a sharp knife(like my Ka-Bar) because modern razors are both expensive and annoying

Gillette fusion proglide manual with 5 blades- because my mom had sent it over to me as part of her care package. I bought a single blade razor from Italy but I am too scared to use it. I'd really like to get a straight edge razor but Im afraid of cutting my own throat lol. I have a badger hair shaving brush and use either Colonel Conk or Crabtree and Evelyn shaving soap in my customized shaving bowl (which is actually a Japanese porcelain soup bowl lol) and bay rum aftershave when I am done.

But then again my face doesnt really get hairy so I can actually shave once every three days and still look clean shaven. I didnt even start shaving until well into my college years.

Wussies. I just rub a brillo pad till the stubble is gone.

Bowie knife.

As to who I shave, none of your business.

A fancy 5-blade disposable in the shower at home.

Whatever cheap disposable razors are on sale - the kind that come a dozen or two in a bag for five bucks or so. Men's and women's are pretty much the same - got some pretty pink ones right now. And I use whatever canned shave cream is cheap - don't like the gel kind though. I'd guess my beard is medium density and I shave only when I've got some stubble (about every three days) - I usually can get a month out of one disposable.

I've been using a Gillette Fusion for years, it works well, I've never had a problem with it, but recently, I signed up for Harry's, now it all comes in the mail every couple of months, the quality is great and I don't have to worry about buying new blades.

Braun electric. Been using different versions of them for all of my adult life.

Shaving for me is a job, and I am not nostalgic about it. I use the modern 3-5 blades, like Gillette Fusion to get the job done safely and efficiently.

Used to use an electric but ever since it crapped out I've been using a spare regular razor. Shaving dry and getting a way closer shave than I ever did with my electric.

I shave only in the summer. Fall, winter and spring I have a beard and use a trimmer.

When I shave I use Bigelow Shave Cream or Poraso Shave Cream, a boars hair bristle brush, and a Gillette Fusion razor. The BEST shave however is a hot shave I got in Rome at a barber shop that started with a hot towel, a very bracing shave cream, a strop and a straight razor. The guy couldn't speak a word of English but he was done quick and even the 5 blade Fusion doesn't hold a candle to it.

I hate shaving with a passion and haven't done so in 15 years. Every two week I break out the Wahl's and use a #1.5 on my face and head.

Your poll is quite crappy.

You get 10 choices to list.

Try:

1 - trim beard only
2 - straight razor
3 - single blade safety razor
4 - double blade safety razor
5 - triple blade safety razor
6 - electric razor
