Armistice day 11/11 is the day Britain remembers the fallen by the wearing of a symbolic Flanders poppy. This year an art installation of ceramic poppies has been "planted" in the moat at the Tower of London. It's caught the public imagination as each poppy represents the life of every British and Commonwealth service person who died.

A lot of people call Neville Chamberlain the "appeaser," but when you read about just how horrendous WWI was, you can understand the trepidation of the British public and the desire to avoid another war.
