I am moon lighting for a couple of weeks doing some security work. And I got this really sweet security gig. I ride around on a golf cart, lock gates and turn off lights for three hours pay thrice my hourly wage. Only draw back is,if this even is, I am guarding a cemetery and mausoleum alone in the wee hours.

Question is would you be creeped out and would it be enough to stop you from doing it?

Could be great fun ! Drive around reading old tombstones and see what type of apparitions you can scare up ....

Enjoy Life

It wouldn't be enough to stop me from doing it, but I'm sure it'd creep me out at first. I think I'd spend some time there during daylight hours just to get the feel of the place.

You mean, when the soil starts to erupt and the bony fingers first extend through the surface, or when the shambling creatures utter their first desire for fresh brains?

It makes a difference,Clax.

Wouldn't creep me out - I'm not emotional that way - in fact, it's pretty calming. We have a beautiful old cemetery here in Toronto, Mount Pleasant, with beautiful trees and grounds, winding paths, big traditional monuments, etc. and lots of people without relatives buried there enjoy just strolling through. But then, we've also had a creep in another cemetery attack a senior woman and rape her in the middle of the day - trouble can find you any time of day, anywhere, if it's not your lucky day.

I would be seriously creeped out - and carrying audio equipment to record any ghostly events because I think that's kind of cool at the same time.

Nope. The living have always been far more troublesome than the dead, and (despite being a zombie movie aficionado) I expect that to continue. :)

Nope, but be friendly with odd things you might hear or see.

Some people might be creeped out know a person passed away in a home, and my mom & dad bought it, but the dog we had, seemingly detected a ghost in one bedroom where it was reportedly the area where the previous homeowner died. We the living didn't have any problems. Hopefully you have a cell phone or a two way radio to report grave diggers and vandals. But be safe out there!

grave robbers are a very uncommon thing these days. You aren't permitted to bury anybody with valuables anymore in Texas. They don't even have shoes on when they are buried. So grave robbing is way more work than it can reward.

So far the only trouble I have had was a guy in a truck playing in the mud in the undeveloped parts.

Do an awesome rave on your last day. At least this is what my friends would urge me to do in a similar situation.

I think it would be awesome. I love graveyards, especially old ones.

There have been many parties at cemeteries when I was younger. I don't know how I'd feel being alone there at night though.
