Bob Dylan Chrysler commercial

Don't get me wrong I would love to have any of those rides, even another Caprice but in reality it's just not worth it at this point in my life - I suppose I could afford anyone of them but the usage I would get out of them just wouldn't justify buying one..... I don't want a car I can look at - I want a nice car I can drive and I'm not interested in any of them being my "every day" car.

For the person I am It's too risky.

My first car was a 1978 Caprice and it was a great ride. I made it from Colorado Springs to Tucson in that sucker in 7 hours including stops for gas, a bucket of chicken and a peeled right front tire.

I had a Chevelle SS "project car" for a while - it could drive and all but it was in primer, I had the Caprice tho with 2 10 inch subs in my trunk (I was like 18 when I had it) and that was a cop magnet - I got rolled so many times driving that thing it was pathetic.

i loved those old Chevelles.

I had an '83 T-Bird with tens in the trunk and a box of twelves, mids, and tweets in the back seat. I miss that stereo a lot; it really thumped. I still have the car, but the electrical system is fried and i can't afford to restore it yet.

-- Bob Dylan telling us that Germany can make our beer, Switzerland can make our watches --

I was surprised at that - it sort of wrote off America's beer and watchmaking industries in one go. That's a shame as I've been hearing a lot of good things about US microbreweries too.

Is it all hype?

American brewing is coming along just fine. It actually might be better now than before prohibition.

i love the Chevelle; never really quite got into the Donk thing, though i'm not throwing stones. back in the 90s, it was bowlegged and dropped. my preference is slightly modified classic. nice ride, either way.

Hey man, I would love to drive that thing around all day with (2) 12's in my trunk rattling it..... You see us tea party folks/patriots my age still love to go for a drive and play some low tone bass and listen to all kinds of music.....

We call that **** fun....

Like I said I would love to have another one but- that would just be drawing attention to myself, and right now I cant have a car that I can just drive on the weekends - I've already had one and you get pulled over at least once a day and harassed by cops because it's considered a "gangester car" around here.

If you have a nice car around here the cops will figure out a way to seize it to fund their tyrant police military... It doesn't matter what you have done wrong or done nothing at all because the cops will just lie, plant drugs or arrest you and size your vehicle for "guilt by association" - it's a race thing either it's a cop thing - it could happen to anybody....

I'd really like an 80's Chevy G van..... Those things are great for camping (I love to camp and fish) and the van can sleep 2 - It also looks A-Team badass....

Some of those G vans are just small campers really.

Of course I would put DVD and Wi-FI in the van but..... RV's are awesome too but for 70-100 grand they're really not in my price range. I'm sure I could get one but I'm not interested in paying one off for the next 15 years or whatever. If I had to make the money to pay for it I would be working 24/7 just to play it off hence no time to play with it lol.

yeah, that does really suck. i am very much against forfeiture laws, and i would support repealing them. too much of a conflict of interest. at the very least, it should require a conviction.

anyway, i'd love to install another sound system in one of my cars. haven't done that in years. miss having all of that low end.

my living room stereo still hits pretty good, though, and my house has great insulation. i bought those speakers in 1994, replaced the head unit about ten years ago. still sounds great.

My brother-in-law restores classic muscle cars, Chevelle SS, Nova Yenko, 69 Mustang GT and they're not as nice as you'd think. Those old brutes are heavy on torque and feel really clunky, compared to today's cars. Even when modern parts are used to some degree, like disc brakes, power steering etc.

I drove a couple and thought, "this is not an everyday driver."

The difference is that I only bought police cruisers (as far as Caprices/Crown Vics) and sometimes there can be "chip" problems when you buy those lol - in my 1990 caprice I could hit almost 150mph - it was a beast.

Well my dad/family business (which my brother runs now) we specialize in custom audio video systems (mostly commercial like clubs, bars and professional business that may want a conference room for telecommunications) so .... We wire night clubs with the best surround sound systems in my county and many in "crook county" Chicago so I have never had a problem really getting my trunk to rattle with a double box of 12's to rattle my trunk - I don't do that much anymore unless I'm rolling with some of my buddies but -- it's not my ride so I'm just along for the ride lol.

They don't "convict" anyone for any of that because in my county "loud music" is an "local ordnance violation" (which isn't a crime, just a town law" - they give you a ticket and you show up in court and give you a 25-100 fine for it.

Which is ****ed up in my opinion because I have had plenty of "house parties" with my garage set up with DJ's battling with dubstep or trapstep and the cops cant cite us for **** because it's our property - especially not in my neighborhood where others on the same nights have parties going on until 6-7 AM (mostly Mexian/Spanish music) so what are they going to do hit everyone on my block? all 4 or 5 and maybe 6 of us...... There are a few nights in the summer where these "frat boys" from Northwestern or any college off campus "neighborhood" do the same a few miles away..... What are they going to do arrest 1000+ people between all of us?

i have always wanted to drive one of those old police cruisers. problem is that by the time they hit the market they have been driven into the ground, and i'm not a good enough mechanic.

i bet this one would rule the barren earth :
