In all due honesty: formula and oversexualization of the breast set nursing back 100 years.

Let's just square that away right now - nursing itself of an infant/toddler isn't perverted or unnatural . . . it's shameful that so many women chose not to do so or try for a little while, get tired of it, and give up. . . they'd rather feed their kids nothing but crap in a can.

After the tragedy that happened in China with all those infants dying because of tainted canned milk products it's amazing to me that anyone still trusts the junk. . . it's shocking to me that I even trusted it!

back in the 70's/80's was formula advertised as a better alternative to breast feeding?

Yeah - I think it was. They give free samples of formula out when you have a baby - bottles and all . . . unacceptable.

Our attitudes towards it now are what royalty felt in years passed. It was seen as so 'normal' and 'mundane' that the higher-class didnt' disgrace theirselves by nursing their children. That was for the hired wetnurse.
