ObamaCare enrollment spikes ahead of increase in penalty

That is a load of bunk. The only thing driving the higher signups is the higher enforcement of the penalties. And the exchanges are dying. Obamacare is collapsing under it's own weight. The only questions is how quickly that happens. It will hold on a bit longer if America is stupid enough to elect Hillary. If a republican is elected....obamacare's remaining life will be very short.

It matters not what/where. the reasons for the great enrollment numbers .............And in spite..........even if accurate and/or true ....are all the short comings you mention...........Obamacare is successfully providing HCI for several million folks who never had health insurance before and as a side benefit freed the Bankruptcy courts of many of the 2 million yearly medical bankruptcies clogging the bankruptcy courts yearly...........

And even if a Republican is elected President..............the GOP will not be able to muster the power to repeal Obamacare....

So yall need to best get use to Obamacare being around for the rest of all time............Because like Social Security....Medicare...........Medicaid.....and Bush's Drug Insurance program for the elderly.............ain't going anywhere soon.........

yup... the ends always justify the means... and don't question anything.

Mandatory does wonders for enrollment numbers. As for providing healthcare for several million who never had health insurance before, that is questionable as well. The obama administration never releases the actual breakdowns of how many of those signups were actually Americans who had already qualified for and in many cases had Medicaid. And the fact remains, the exchanges are shrinking.

I doubt that, however I do not follow the bankrupcy courts, and I suspect that many who do not qualiffy for subsidies end up in bankrupcy court over their insurance premiums going up anywhere from 100% to 500%. Mine went up 300%9

And even if a Republican is elected President..............the GOP will not be able to muster the power to repeal Obamacare....

I would not bet on that claim, sport.

One of three things will eventually happen. Obamacare will fall under it's own weight, it will be changed to the point that it no longer resembles obamacare, or it will be outright repealed. How soon does depend on the 2016 election.

Since you admit you are not familiar with the Bankruptcy courts what is the basis for your doubt. But more so guessing what the causes for the average 2 million bankruptcies each year is something you could look up for yourself…………that is if you are in learning something of the issue rather than having to guess all the time………..

And YES it is doubtful even if a Republican is elected President Obamacare will be repealed………..
First, because the GOP will not have a super majority in the Senate and will not be able to end a Democratic filibuster…………

And secondly, the GOP would not be willing in putting an end to the cash cow the issue can generate for the party ……and actually repealing Obamacare is not being considered in any way or fashion…… So don’t bet on its repeal
Don’t you know the GOP is always telling their base lies?

And as I said, Obamacare is here to stay…..deal with it my friend

BTW

Speculation on what may be in our future is a silly waste of time............and is more so an excuse for loosing the argument

Are you about anything more then windups? The democrats did not have a super majority when they passed obamacare. The republicans can repeal it in the same manner the dummycrats passed it. Obamacare's days are numbered. Deal with it.

Actually, they did. Which is why it passed the Senate with 60 votes: U.S. Senate: Roll Call Vote

Reconciliation was later used to revise some of the financial pieces of the ACA but the law itself was passed the old fashioned way. As a parliamentary matter you could never use reconciliation to pass (or repeal) a law like the ACA in its entirety. You can only use it to amend certain financial pieces of it.

Looks like a regulations imposed on the economy work..

Republicans are once again perturbed as Obamacare Enrollment Nearly Doubles with Young People At reports from

As the Hill reported:
“The administration said Tuesday that 8.2 million people have signed up so far, compared to 6.4 million at this point last year.
That includes 2.1 million people under age 35 — nearly double the number of young people enrolled during the same period last year.
Administration officials touting the numbers have pounded home the message that ObamaCare coverage is affordable in explaining the rush of people joining the exchanges…………..”

Folks predicting the “failure” of Obamacare once again are disenchanted and “left” waiting at the alter”……so to speak……..

signups =/= to enrollment lets wait and see how many of those actually enroll then we will have a better view of the situation.

Obamacare Enrollment Drops as Rate Hikes Loom | RealClearPolitics

Are you required to maintain the policy or is this like paying for one month of liability insurance?

it is kind of a gray area.

signsup can be anyone right. it doesn't matter if you pay or not. you can get an insurance policy which is a signup.
enrollment doesn't happen till after your 1st payment is made. until your first months payment is made you are technically not
a enrollee in the healthcare plan.

in the private market there was a 300k drop in people that paid.
most of the numbers are being boosted by the number of people on Medicaid.

in which now state law makers are worried about paying for as the federal slush fund is over with soon.

Medicaid enrollment surges, stirs worry about state budgets

but but it is free right? federal government will pay it and you will only pay a small amount :lamo
ol the entire laughing matter of the ACA the might fraud by liberals and the government yet.

someone should sue based on that.

ol no they passed it with reconciliation which should have been thrown out to begin with.
however the republican can very much repeal the entire thing through the same process.

LOL the ACA will cut down on government costs LOL I guess 270 billion dollars in overhead costs is saving money.
