UHC does not give healthcare to everyone. Unless you are covering illegal immigrants, legal immigrants, and tourists. Which no UHC covers by the way.
and there are no UHC countries that everyone "gets all the HC they need, when they need it".. Most have either rationing, or they have a private system for people to step outside the public system or both.
Oh and forgot.. Many UHC countries have emtala like rules to prevent patient dumping. Others don't have such rules and patient dumping is a common occurrence.
UHC does cover legal immigrants and tourists in many places. How do you think I got HC for nothing? In a fixed cost system of UHC, weather to cover the tourists or not costs nothing extra, and makes them happy to return. Example, to see a Dr in the Cooks is free for locals, and $20 NZ for tourists. Dental I free.
A Americans wife had major brain surgery, with a life flight from their sailboat in the great barrier reef. With months of hospital recovery. True story direct from the guys mouth, I met him in Mexico. Cost? about $2500. With $1500 of that the jet ride to Sydney. In USA you cant get a ambulance ride for $2500. As foreigners, they did have to pay, as you can see, it was affordable....................and makes the USA look like the **** hole it is.
