A Great Governor

One thing That is almost universally true. Regressive GOP types who call people homophobic slurs are flaming closeted homosexuals. NTTAWWT

Not repotted on this thread is how drunk the fat blob was. He could barely speak and when he did he was sluring like the bigot he is.

Drunk?
Maybe, but given his last name.....glue-sniffing is much more likely.

"the enemy right now... are people of colour or people of Hispanic origin".

"The traffickers—these aren't people who take drugs. These are guys by the name D-Money, Smoothie, Shifty. These type of guys that come from Connecticut and New York. They come up here, they sell their heroin, then they go back home. Incidentally, half the time they impregnate a young, white girl before they leave. "

I had to go scream at the top of my lungs about black dealers coming in and doing the things that they’re doing to our state,”

Thing is, the drug dealers in Maine are mostly white

I've heard unconfirmed rumors regarding Hillary's outbursts, but little supporting evidence.
LePage was wise enough to record his outbursts and release them to the media.
Could be he's more honest....could be he's just an idiot....I dunno.

Would you care to dispute the data?

No need for me to do that, FBI did that already as reported in the local paper. Still, the fact you cite a source no better than stormfront tells me all I need about you.

Sorry, but your comparison is false. And data are data. My approach is empirical; in other posts I have linked the Southern Poverty Law Center and The Nation for data, for example.

You only fool yourself.

The Governor of Maine has my vote (if only I could vote for him)!

Maine governor to lawmaker: ‘I am after you’

Maine Gov. Paul LePage left a hostile voicemail for a state lawmaker Thursday morning, calling him a “socialist c***sucker.”
The Portland Press Herald reports that the governor left the expletive-filled message after a TV reporter said that Rep. Drew Gattine, D-Westbrook, was among several people who accused him of racism.

“Mr. Gattine, this is Gov. Paul Richard LePage. I would like to talk to you about your comments about my being a racist, you c***sucker,” he said. “I want to talk to you. I want you to prove that I’m a racist. I’ve spent my life helping black people and you little son of a bitch, socialist c***sucker. You … I need you to, just friggin’. I want you to record this and make it public because I am after you. Thank you.”
The accusations of racism stemmed from comments LePage made during a town hallin North Berwick on Wednesday. LePage had said he has a three-ring binder of photos from drug busts and that most “are black and Hispanic people from Waterbury, Connecticut; the Bronx; and Brooklyn.” According to LePage, Gattine called him a racist in response. Gattine denied this to local outlets.

Unapologetic about his statements, not only did LePage encourage Gattine to record the voicemail, he also invited a journalist from the Press Herald and a TV crew from local ABC affiliate WMTW to the Blaine House, the official residence of the governor, to conduct a half-hour interview on his motivations. He lamented that he could not settle their dispute with a duel. . . . .

I am confused, are you being sarcastic or do you actually believe that LePage is a great governor because of these things?

He's allowed the hyperbole of (righteous) anger.

From a moral and or Biblical perspective, righteous anger would not involve responding to someone by yelling at them and calling them a **********. For anger to be righteous one must express that anger in a righteous fashion. As the good book says, "be angry and yet do not sin".

As you wish, but I make no apologies for being a data omnivore.

Like I said, you're only fooling yourself. Nobody can convince me they cite American Renaissance and not be aware or highly questioning of the information peddled, let alone try and build an argument with civilised folks around it.

I'm uninterested in a Biblical guideline. From a moral perspective, a despicable attack merits harsh words in response.

Be that as it may, the term "righteous anger" is a biblical term. Its not even used outside of a Christian context.

Nonsense. It's commonly used in thoroughly secular contexts.

Google the term and see if you find one reference to it that is not a biblical one. Its like using the term sin. Yes you can use the term sin in a secular context, but its ultimately a religious term.

To which the appropriate response is: so what? Much of our language has religious origin but is now commonly used in a secular context.

Direct quote from Paul Lepage:

A bad guy is a bad guy. I don’t care what color he is. When you go to war, if you know the enemy, the enemy dresses in red and you dress in blue, you shoot at red. […] You shoot at the enemy. You try to identify the enemy. And the enemy right now, the overwhelming majority of people coming in are people of color or people of Hispanic origin.

The remarks were at a press conference responding to the news and controversy that LePage had left a state representative an expletive-laden, homophobic voicemail.
