It' a responsibility - everything is a responsibility.

Fail to uphold your duties and see to your responsibilities and you've destroyed a human being.

The father vented on youtube, then posted to FB, then destroyed a working laptop all in a blatant attempt to teach his daughter some kind of lesson in what?

I'm guessing the "father" might be regretting that video in the near future.

Yep. I am hoping his crap redneck parenting skills backfire in his ugly control freak face If he had any real love in his heart for his daughter? He would have no desire to humilate her in front of the whole frigging world. He is a crap parent and it is no wonder his daughter has no respect for him. I do not blame her one little bit.

And how does her dad respond? By acting like a bigger brat than his own kid! This guy is a dickhead

Especially the part about when they get old and need someone to wipe their ass for them it won't be her. Those are cruel words and hearing him read it, I could feel his vibes even through the monitor.

Also note that he said this is not the first time she has done something similar. So she isn't very good at keeping her rants secret.

I think she is a spoiled little brat that thinks she's all that and Dad showed her friends she ISN'T all that after all. She will see it, guaranteed. She has friends, she has to go to school, there is a library where she can log on. So yes...she will be embarassed. Good.

The only thing that turned me off was him shooting the laptop. He could have sold it, or like someone else said, given it to a student that really needed one, etc.

But what I heard most of all in his voice as he read that print out was hurt and anger. Can't say I blame him. And I can also relate to what he said. You do and do and do for your kids and all you get is a knife in your back because most kids don't appreciate a damn thing these days. They have no clue what it's like to wear hand me downs, have to use pad and pen because they cannot afford a laptop, have to miss meals or even have a roof over their heads. This brat got what she deserved and I hope like hell she is totally embarassed and he makes good on his threat that "things will get worse". Ground her for a damn year, charge her rent. THEN maybe she will understand her piddly chores are nothing compared to the real world and what things cost to survive nowadays with mommy and daddy. Oh, and her insult about the "maid", too. Don't forget that.

In short...I don't blame him one bit.
Kids do not ask to be brought into this world and if a parent cannot provide things for them? Well maybe the adults having them should re-think bringing a child into this world if they cannot give them the things they need.

She may be a brat but who made her that way? Seems pretty clear to me and we all have a video to prove this girls problem: her asshole Daddy

Like anyone in this world can predict the future.

I agree. If you're too soft on kids they become brats. You don't make bratty kids by being stern and hard. You make bratty kids by being too soft. Looks like that's about to change for this little girl.

Why not take the dad's word? Do you know the guy personally enough to call him a liar?

As for the dog. It is not uncommon for people to make facebook pages specifically for a pet. Nor is it uncommon for a teenager to forget things nor think things through enough to remember to block a dog.

And really, there's nothing in anything that he has said that is not believeable. The only thing that is unusual about this whole case is that of the Dad posting what he did.

Trust me. It loses it's effectiveness when that becomes normal.

Bold: The point (at least partly) was to humiliate yes. To show her what it felt like to be humiliated since that is exactly what she did to him.
No, she didn't. He found it accidentally. Her intent was to vent, not humiliate. HIS intent WAS to humiliate. Different situations.

It was also (again, at least partly) to "hurt" her in the same way that she hurt him. Sometimes a "tit-for-tat" type of punishment is a good thing, especially when it comes to emotions. It allows the kid to understand exactly what the parent means by saying "you hurt me" when refering to emotions. Sometimes there is a disconnect between the words and the actual feeling. Whether it is because the kid actually doesn't understand because they do not feel it themselves in that instance or because they simply don't believe that they actually hurt thier parent in that way. Now I am in no way saying that this should be used all the time. It should only be reserved for when you are at your wits end.
Actually, this is probably one of the most ineffective types of communication. If you are angry at someone and then do something to make them angry, their understanding is NOT what they did, but that YOU made them angry. It doesn't get your message across in any kind of effective or clear way at all. It just attacks, and that's how people take it. If you want someone to understand that you are angry and WHY, you tell them, clearly. Anything else clouds the message. Tit-for-tat is poor communication.

As for what you quoted on what I said that was mainly for defense purposes and not meant as a tit-for-tat type of thing. As I said "so that the world is not seeing just one side"
    Defense of what?
