Talking Gorilla Condemns Global Warming - Are you freaking kidding me with this crap?

Re: Talking Gorilla Condemns Global Warming - Are you freaking kidding me with this c

No, it's people trying to be cute. The science behind it stands on it's own. However, the climate deniers made it political,.. because they are taking their direction from the pseudo scientists who are being paid by the libertarian think tanks to be skeptics.. being funded by Exxon mobile and the Koch brothers.

Yeah, I get it. The AGW crowd would like nothing better than 'Do as you are told / Do as we tell you' and are shocked that people just don't.

While it may be the case that there is climate warming going on, what's not so clear is that it's AGW, nor that the huge wealth redistribution that's being proposed is actually going to anything about AGW.

It makes little sense to wreck your economy on AGW based assumptions which are based on a still incomplete understanding of the Earth's climate system. That's just common sense and being prudent.

Actually, KoKo pretty well exemplifies your typical pro AGW 'believer'.

"Come on KoKo...say this and I'll give you a banana...GOOD gorilla....Goooooooooooooooood gorilla....."

See? He doesn't know know anything more than what he is manipulated to say also.

On the contrary.. it more mimics that right wing libertarian climate deniers, who swallow the political and the so called 'skeptics', without actually looking at the science.

The climate deniers are very political, and highly misinformed about science in general

Never mind that the other side is being paid by green tech and giving out "incentivizes" to those who follow their line. :)

That is very much a projection. That is what the climate deniers are doing. However, the people who look at global warming actually look at the science. This condition was predicted 60 years ago.. and it's been repeatedly confirmed.

When it comes to that, the oil companies have much more resources, more more incentive, and have much more to lose than the fragmented clean energy companies that are startups. Follow the money trail, and see who is funding the skeptics. It's the heartland institute, the cato institute, and a few other libertarian think tanks.. all funded by either Exxon mobile or the Koch Industries.

SHOOOOOOORE it does. And yet...that gorilla is 'talking' to 'someone'....isn't it.

:lamo

All they need is a parrot to spout the AGW tripe, and the two of them could go on tour. Of course....they would have to make sure it changes its message every few months as the rhetoric gets adjusted.

And who is funding the other side? Why is this about "global warming?" Why isn't it about pollution? Hm? It is healthy to distrust both sides

Yeah, and I remember the same sort of 'scientists' clamoring about shortly impending ice age back in the '70's. Guess what. Didn't happen.
Their science at the time looked good too.

AGW .. or Anthropomorphic Global Warming is a pollution issue... in specifically when it comes to the production of carbon dioxide and methane and nitrogenous oxide. The most important of those that contribute global warming is carbon dioxide. A large contributor to increasing the percentage of carbon dioxide per year is manufacturing, cars, and energy generation. A certain percentage of CO2 gets absorbed by the environment each year, but with human activity, there is , on a year to year basis, more carbon dioxide added to the atmosphere than is being absorbed. From the climate models, the difference between carbon dioxide from human activity verses the amount of carbon dioxide that would be absorbed by the various oceans/plants/algae is what is causing the increase in temperatures.. this is what is being observed, and this is what the models had predicted. The physics behind it is known, and has been known for a long time. For those people who think this is a 'modern conspiracy theory', let me refute that using a clip from the Bell Lab Science Hour tv show back in 1958.

Now, if it wasn't for the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, we would be currently in a cooling trend, because of the Axial precession. We would have started this cooling trend in the 1970's.

What could be argued is the effect of the climate change on the livability of the earth, and how it might effect the sustainability of our society. That's a different issue than the model about showing that increasing the green house gasses via pollution will cause a warming of the earth. Denying it happens, using the sources that are provided for the denial is the definition of stupidity and insanity. The preponderance of evidence for not only global warming , but it being mainly driven by human activity is over whelming. The long term implications are not as clear.

I would also say that the solutions to the issue IS highly political, and one of the big losers in any potential solution is the very industry that is funding global warming denial (the oil industry). I will also say that due to human nature, any potential solution has to be economically advantageous above a mere technical solution.

Well, that always was a very large minority, and if you look at some statements of scientists that said that .. one was

"The prediction of global cooling via axial precssion does not mean that it can not be overwhelmed by the increase of greenhouse gasses.' SO, quoting a minority science position that was not considering green house gasses is not very honest.

Err, kinda like the same very large minority supporting AGW?
The very vocal one that's convinced lots of the politicians that it's the highest priority?
The one that thinks the first world nations owes a huge pile of giveaway money to 2nd and 3rd world nations?
The one that thinks it's a good idea to criminalize any skepticism about AGW?
The one that blames militant Islamic terrorism on global warming?
The one that wants to shutdown any non-green electrical generation? (causing us to go back to the 1800's)
The one that wants to replace all fossil fuel vehicles with battery ones, even if they do take 2 days to fully recharge?

That one? Is that the one you are talking about? :lamo

Yeah, I was just kinda teasing there a bit with a bit of exaggeration

Re: Talking Gorilla Condemns Global Warming - Are you freaking kidding me with this c

Sorry dude, as long as you have a quote by Joycelyn Elders, who Clinton had to get rid of because she was such an embarrassment, you won't defeat anyone ever.

An embarrassment? Yeah, for conservatives.

Talking gorillas?

Sounds like entire GOP

Nice troll. Could say the same for the Dems.

She is a beautiful animal, smarter than a lot of people and with deeper feelings and understanding and compassion than many humans.

I think the funniest part is that some people could actually think those who made the video thought people would believe Koko was conversing on climate change...so point fingers all you want...one points out and the rest point back and that last laugh is the best laugh.
