Okay, so this was so funny to me. I had to share.

Man's attempt to kill spider confused with domestic violence, sparks police call | Fox News

My favorite part was this:

Police: Come on mate, what have you done to her?
Male: It was a spider.
Police: Sorry??
Male: It was a spider, a really big one!!
Police: What about the woman screaming?
Male: Yeah sorry that was me, I really, really hate spiders.

I can't help but think about how I would have been able to handle the situation if someone had called the cops on my roommate for shooting at the spider in my room with a bb gun.

Thanks, that gave me a good laugh as well!

Could have been a black widow. But then it's his fault for marrying her in the first place.

BB gun? I'd have grabbed the 12 gage automatic. I'm not friends with spiders. Historically, they haven't been friends with me, so...

Good morning, humbolt. :2wave:

The last two lines in the dialog was worth the read! Fortunately for my computer I didn't have coffee in my mouth at the time, or I would be cleaning up a mess now...

BB gun? HOWITZER!

Oh the spider in my room was just a little wolf spider, who ultimately survived the incident after capture and release outside by me when my roommate went to reload.

If the spider they showed in the story was the spider the guy was trying to kill though, I can understand him wanting to kill it. That thing looked scary.

Greetings, MaggieD. :2wave:

 I scream at seeing spiders one-tenth the size of that thing! I'd be out cold on the floor....

When I was in southeastern California recently I looked with interest at the giant holes California tarantulas live in. They're mostly nocturnal, so I wasn't too worried about 'em, but I didn't disturb them either. They're pretty big and they live for many years - as long as they don't run into me. My affection for bugs is limited to lady bugs and stuff like that. The rest are on my list of expendable creatures, and that includes all spiders. All of 'em. Anything with more legs than brains is suspect.

Seeing as most things in Australia can kill you fairly easily, it might have been a reasonable reaction

I'm hoping you mean Howitzers....
Heh...no...but come Christmas....

Nope...a western desert and a Chilean Rose...We've had them for...geez...12 years or so now.
