Mother buying Minecraft sword from Toys R Us finds 800 rounds of ammunition | Daily Mail Online

Well that's odd.

The order was delivered to Stephenson’s home on Tuesday, and the mom noted that it was surprisingly heavy. When she opened the cardboard shipping crate, she quickly discovered why: inside there were 16 boxes containing 50 rounds of ammunition each for a 9mm Luger handgun.

Actually, there's a lot of "odd" about this.

1. Nobody recognized that a box with a foam sword weighed 50#?
2. Toys R Us refuses to sell anything resembling a gun but has no problem selling swords?
3. The woman is pissed off? She just got $250 worth of ammo for free!
4. Normally when I order ammo they pack it a whole lot better what this woman got.

Bizarre story indeed.
Surely, 800 rounds are worth more than $250. She should be happy about a windfall like that.

But, who do the bullets belong to if Toys R Us doesn't even sell them? Where might they have come from?

Why demand answers? Just start ordering more foam swords!

Because we are talking about Toys-R-Us here... the next box could be filled with sex toys. Explain that to a 7 year old.

Depends what they are. Winchester 115 grain FMJs are about 23 cents a round, that comes to $184. Self defense hollowpoints can run 40 cents each which comes to $320.

Well, if sex toys hold their value and market as well as ammunition does that would be fine. Hmm...I wonder if the mother would have said anything if she got a few dildos with the sword instead of ammunition?

The first place to investigate would be the logistics outfit ToysRUs uses for their mail orders. On the mailing sticker it would narrow down location, what time the order was filled and those working that day. Obviously someone put the bullets in the shipping box. The question is why?

Once, I bought a book from Toys-R-Us that explained farts. Did you know that a fart, measured in cubic feet, takes up about as much space as the inside a coffee cup? The things you can learn from TOYS-R-US!

Yeah, while people are finding it rather amusing, it's very serious. What is going on at that fulfillment center wherein a mistake like this could even happen??

Yes it is serious. The first thing I thought of is ToysRUs doesn't carry any bullets as merchandise to be shipped so whoever works there in packing at the logistics company handling the account had to bring them with them in a lunch box or backpack and had to have a reason for unloading them. Maybe they have been involved in some criminal activity that this type of ammo could link them to a crime. Or maybe they are just another sick individual. Who knows.
