Obama State of the Union

Alright, figure can have a live thread concerning the speech.

The first thing that made me grit my teeth was his comments about partisanship. If the American people are sick of partisanship, why is he engaging in it. If he's president, why doesn't he take the first step and stop. Stop attacking fox news. Stop attacking Rush Limbaugh. Stop saying we need to "work together" and then in the back room make it clear "work together" is "Shut up and do it my way".

It seems to me that people engaging in partisanship are the only people accusing Obama of partisanship.

I'm listening to the speech now, and he still wants his healthcare bill passed and he's still blaming bush.

Well, I'm doubtful of the spending freeze for reasons outlined by others on the forum, especially for how impactful it will really be.

That said, every little bit helps, so I commend him on seeing the light and changing his stance he had during the campaign when he criticized McCain for the notion

They should restore the PayGo law? You mean the one that the Democratic Congress repealed to pass their bills last year? Hm.
