IMO DP itself is just another kind of online game.

No one was talking about putting the video game as a reference or qualification on your resume, but of learning real skills through the game.
I don't put my DP awards or post count on my resume but I can sure debate or negotiate someone face to face. |

Current Mood: | Re: Your brain on video games When in-game, if you are participating in a major event, there are times where you may become frustrated, feel extreme urgency or confusion, and become exited to a level where your fine motor control diminishes and/or experience tunnel vision. This can cause you to loose track of where your courser is on your screen, forget the commands various buttons execute, etc.
One skill someone can learn by being placed in that experience is to control their level of exitement and discipline themselves mentally to remain calm.
Remember kids: slow is smooth, smooth is swift.
It's all in the head.
If a game uses Team Speak or Ventrilo, others will very much care how you speak to them and may or may not want to sell you an item or team up with you for an event.
In games that have an Auction House or other form of in-game economy, one can learn how to manipulate the goods like a commodities market. Various addons such as Auctioneer can assist with this.
When it comes to the regular hack-n-slash of the game, each person has a place in the team, a specific job to do, and working together as a team requires much more communication and interpersonal skill then simply left-click+spacebar to fire.
