I hope that wink means you are kidding. I've been saying all waste is bad, but the DoD is by far the worse. There's no more wasteful dept in the country.

I'm not saying shut them down, or anything like that. But if someone is truly a 'fiscal conservative' he/she can't complain about other government waste but then ignore the DoD just because it's DEFENSE!

I guess I get it in a way that you don't understand in that I'm a CPA and was an Audit Manager at E&Y. When you can't account for the money you spend to the extent that you have $2T in "plugs" you are an incompetent boob. Show me a similar circumstance at a different agency and I'll be equally critical.

Who do you see giving the military a pass?

And how do you account for a claim of a budget audit discrepancy of 6.5 trillion when the entire federal budget is 3.5 trillion and the annual DOD budget cumulatively is 630 billion.
yes...the DoD is wasteful..primarily because we have to follow silly federal spending guidelines.

1. You are accusing the ways that the Army fudged it's numbers (both up and down) with "total wasted spending". Those two things are not even close to the same.
2. If you want to look at raw size of government waste, you should start with fraud in healthcare spending.

...In a May 2012 report, FBI Special Agent David Welker said, “The United States spends more than $2.5 trillion on health care annually, and rough estimates indicate that anywhere from 3 (percent) to 10 percent of all health care expenditures are attributed to fraud."...​

BTW I am not a liberal. Actually I was a Republican for 35 years, you know back when Republicans were really for smaller governments and less spending.
