Treat vets as well as murders and thieves?

I have been watching some Highway to Heaven episodes on youtube lately and the other day I watched an episode that was called The Hero. It is about a Vietnam veteran has a terrible tooth ache and when he goes to get it fixed he finds that his veteran insurance does not cover dental work unless the dental problem was caused by injury suffered during combat while he was serving in the military. Here is the plot summary -

"Highway to Heaven" The Hero (TV Episode 1987) - Plot Summary - IMDb

This guy lost an arm and a leg serving his country yet his insurance wont cover dental work. So this Highway to Heaven episode is from 1987 and it seems that nothing has changed.

I read this article the day after watching The Hero.

Most Vets Don'''t Qualify For VA Dental Care. So These Dentists Are Giving It For Free

This article is saying that Veterans Affairs still has the same policy on dental insurance as it had back in 1987. It goes on to say that some dentists have taken on the work for free and that is really nice but shouldnt USA be doing more to care for veterans that have risked their lives for your country?

The veteran in the Highway to Heaven episode - The Hero - is really upset about the fact that the US government is happy to let him suffer with dental pain that he cannot afford to get fixed. What makes him really angry is the fact that USA treats murders and thieves better than it treats its veterans. If a prisoner needs dental work done they can get it apparently but none for heros that have served their country in the military. What is up with that USA? Why does USA treat murders and thieves better than you treat your veterans? The hero actually says in the episode - " I dont need a free lunch or a medal - or your damn pity - I need to be treated as well as you treat your murderers and thieves - thats what I need." - The Hero

So what do you reckon USA? Is it about time that USA treated your veterans as well as you treat your murderers and thieves? Should veterans all get free dental?

Well, these vets knew what the benefits were when they signed up. We can't totally take care of people for the rest of their lives because they served in the military. Maybe something like a vet who lost a limb gets dental care, or the like.

Most vets went into the military for the income or whatever, and never went to war or had a serious injury. Vets get a lot of benefits....help with housing, free medical care, lower insurance costs, free education, etc. At some point a person, whether vet or not, needs to take responsibility for himself and get a job. If he's disabled and gets disability benefits, that's a different story.

The better question is - why should prisoners get free dental? When, if ever, was this veteran promised free dental?

I can see why a prisoner would get dental. Because he's not free to earn a living. He's locked up. So there is no hope that he would be able to pay for expensive dental work. It could be considered cruel and unusual punishment if we leave a prisoner to suffer with rotting teeth, when he has no way at all of having that fixed.

Having said that, I'm guessing the kind of dental care that is provided is not very good. They won't put in crowns or implants, for example, is my guess. They will pull bad teeth instead and leave the spaces. But that may vary from state to state. I know it's that way for Medicaid, which doesn't provide "dental," per se, but will pull bad teeth since that is a medical issue. Infected teeth can make someone sick or even kill him.

^This.
It is much the same with most liberal/Democratic ideology.
Incremental implementation. Pass a little here and then a little there and eventual they get what they want.

Oh no, both sides use it. The only difference is that Conservatives tend to not make it about race in the same way.

Think about it, I find this topic as offensive as I find the following picture, which is all over the place lately:

refugees-vs-homeless-vets.png

And I can bet the person who made that meme did not give a damn about homeless vets 6 months ago, and once this issue is over they will never think about them again.

That is exploitation, and it ****ing sickens me, no matter who uses it or for what cause. If all the people in the last month or so actually cared about "homeless vets", they could probably each donate $100 and we would be able to buy all of them homes. But they do not really care, none would, have, and never will donate time or money to actually solve the problem of homeless veterans. Then they wonder why I hold them in contempt.

It is generally minimal, provided by interns at the State Dental Colleges. Extractions and drill and fill is about it.

The differences have been the issues and that the conservative side doesn't do this nearly as much.

Did you not notice the picture I posted above?

Yea, they do it quite often as well. They simply pick another cause is all, one that is not racial in nature.

No. The conservative side doesn't do this nearly as much.

And your picture is irrelevant as you can not prove anything by it.

So instead of refuting the statement you provide an animation that actually applies to your position. Figures.

No, I am simply shocked and amazed by your blindness, either on purpose or otherwise.

Heck, almost the entire Trump campaign is based upon such claims. And you say it basically does not exist.

Sorry, there is simply no real response that I can give to claims like that.

You still have not refuted what I said.

Apparently you got lost in what was conveyed and objected to.
Again.

And no. Trump's campaign is not involved in passing a little here and a little there in incremental implementation. D'oh!

Like I said, the image you provided actually applies to your position.
