Explosions are just so cool and awesome!
 
Given Russia's history of shooting down civilian airliners, I'm not too sure they have much room to complain. Also, if Russia would file normal flight plans instead of using military routes and military squawk codes, maybe fighters from the country they are flying over wouldn't go up to see WTF they're doing?

Amazing how those transponder thingies work but it is four numbers they have to dial in. US aircraft can dial in civilian squawk codes. Those poor Russians getting picked on again.
