Green Beret Kicked Out Of Army For Attacking Afghani Child Rapist Breaks Silence

it seems liberals don't care that an honorable man lost his job trying to prevent the rape of a child. if it doesn't come from a liberal source, i guess it's not real.

Some CONs just can't take the blinders off. The OP made a claim and I asked for the source as I couldn't find it. I'd much rather a non partisan source that is light on political grand standing and a few highly parsed 'quotes' and far deeper in direct quotes from the proceedings.

I'd opine this news story isn't on most news sources' radar- CON or Lib. All I find is the Faux Noise poor report reposted by a bunch of angry old guy websites. (As the OP noted there is a MUCH better article on this that as far as I can tell only a 'LIBERAL' website reposted)

I also note, even here, the CONs are far more interested in political posturing... :peace

not supporting child rape=political posturing?

oh yes, conservatives are out of touch, because we don't support allowing afghans to rape children. but it's OK, because they're an 'older culture', so they get a free pass to rape children. that's your argument. :

Laughing, you get easily confused I see... What I said is you seem to only consider 'punishing' non western cultures bad acts and ignore more ahhh 'nordic' barbarism. No one supports child rape! It is asinine and outrageous to even attempt such a 'logic'... :doh

What I said is when the West attempts to insert itself into other cultures it tends to forget what a can of worms the process is AND no CON gave a rat's rump about Afghanistan as a nation, but as a pawn in the international brinksmanship.

The Host nation doesn't get a free pass, however our soldiers don't get to be the moral police, their job is to break things and kill the badguys. Sad fact of this, and it is a fact every time we attempt to nation build.

Someday the West will learn this tragic fact.

Again more spittle flinging CON game... :doh

Issue 1- a grandstanding politician using highly selective 'facts' when he should have access to the direct quotes... Coupled with posters here who use any excuse to call for Obama to be fired...

Issue 2- child rape.

Try and keep them straight... :peace

How long has disobeying an order been the action of an "honorable man"?

i would like to see this man promoted, and our commander in chief fired. only one of the two currently has their head on straight.

I respect the apparent Afghan cultural-tradition of raping children, however the afghans should have to respect our culture as well.

Charles made that quote when india was british territory. Afghanistan is not ours.

Please note that I slightly edited the title so it would fit

Green Beret Speaks After Attacking Rapist | The Daily Caller

Now, before anyone starts saying that this cites the Daily Caller and Fox News, I heard this exact same story from a super liberal source last week.

The only question I have to ask is this: How do we help get Martland reinstated?

Vote out Obama. Elect someone who will sack the perverts now leading the army.

But that won't happen because people don't care, heck the pedophile apologists are out in this very thread.

And to the perverts who've slandered these brave men by calling them vigilantes, shame on you.

We can't vote him out. He's on his last term.

Our military is for soldiers not rebels. He wanted to be a rebel and now he is...

In Afghanistan it is called Bacha Bazi....a girl for breeding, a boy for pleasure.

The soldier was interfering in Afghani culture...that being said, the man is a hero for reacting to such evil. He has lost his career but he can hold his head high because his conscience is clear, he saw and he didn't walk away.

What is it with zero tolerance types who think this guy should be ousted for intervening in child rape? What in the actual ****?

Interfering? On an American base?

I agree, I don't see how it could be. That was my point, sorry if I didn't convey it well.

you made it
i simply agreed with it

how can any government official be charged with failing to follow an illegal order

maybe there is more to it, such that his termination was valid ... but if so, that aspect has not been revealed

No doubt you have indisputable evidence that none of us care?

The only question I have to ask is this: How do we help get Martland reinstated?

Simple fact is, this guy was way outside of his authority.

Do not think I am some apologist. But the fact is, this SFC was overseas, in another country. And as part of SF, odds are it was not in his job description to try to enforce civil law over there. As much as I may applaud him for what he did, he was way outside of his authority. Not only that, but also I could say vigilantee justice, which is another violation of the law.

The military operates under laws, rules, and regulations. And unless somebody can quote some part of the SOFA agreement between the US and Afghanistan which gives our military members freedom to act as they can against sex offenders, then what he did was way outside of what he was allowed to do. And we can't have people acting that way in uniform.

Period.

Most in here know me as being not only very pro-military, but also pro-law and order. And in none of the reports of this incident do I find anything that gives this person the authorization to do whatever it was he did. If this was a cop, would it not have been excessive force and police brutality if they had done this?

So why treat this differently? Because the guy he attacked as a child rapist and he is a soldier?

No thank you, rather not serve with people who can not control their anger.

No doubt you have indisputable evidence that none of us care?

This is something that the radicals on the Far Left tell themselves all the time. However, it is very much a fantasy, and not part of reality.

I for one did not forget about Afghanistan after the Soviets left, and I had long applauded Charlie Wilson for his own efforts to help rebuild the nation after that. I had followed the civil war in that country, and was outraged when the Taliban destroyed the Buddhas of Bamiyan. And there were multiple incidents during the 1990's, that if "Liberals" really cared, they could have done something. Mass executions in Kabul, stonings of women who did not want a divorce, hundreds of thousands of refugees flooding into Pakistan. All during the Clinton Administration.

And other then launching a few Tomahawk missiles, what did the Democrats do when they were in charge? Well, nothing more then when the Republicans were in charge.

You can pretty much guarantee that whenever somebody accuses "This person did not care", what they are really saying is "I did not care", but are projecting that onto others.

How long has disobeying an order been the action of an "honorable man"?

Wait...what?

If the 'order' is to stand by while a predator harms a child...then disobeying that order is 'honorable'. Frankly...once the army devolved to that point, I'd say adios muchachos, and sue later to have my discharge deemed 'honorable'. At that point...I'd shout the orders and decisions of the chain of command from the rooftops.

My NCO Academy Commandant received an Article 15 while in Vietnam for violating a direct order. He was ordered to not fire on advancing NVA soldiers that had cut through the outer and middle wires and were approaching the inner wires. There were politicians on site and the order was given because combat might have made the situation look bad. When they reached the inner wires...he opened fire ending the threat.
Later in his career he was offered to have his record cleared of the Article 15. His response..."**** that. Best moment of my career".

Some orders are meant to be violated.

This doesn't happen a lot, but VanceMack is completely right. When I was in Afghanistan **** like that was absolutely not tolerated from the Afghans. No man with a single shred of honor would follow such a despicably cowardly order. I would've killed the mother ****er and the rest of my platoon would've helped bury the body.

Some orders are meant to be violated.

And when you do so, you take responsibility for your actions, and the consequences you incur from them.

In this case, he took the action and now is paying for his action. If he had done this in the US I would have expected the same result. You simply do not take the law into your own hands, especially as a senior NCO.

And would you then be crying because you were caught doing that and facing a court martial for Article 118?

Remember, I have no sympathy at all for the guy he bodyslammed, I might have well done the exact same thing in his shoes. But that would not absolve me of the crime I did in my anger, rage, and frustration. I feel bad for the guy, but also recognize what he did was illegal.

Again more spittle flinging CON game... :doh

And as long as you keep trying to seperate this into a political and not a criminal issue, you will always continue to fail.

I am one of the biggest "CONs" in here according to you and other far-left individuals. Yet even I have remained silent on this for quite a while, doing as I always do and waiting for more facts and information before saying anything.

But in reality, you really do not seem to give a damn about anything but political finger pointing, which is why even when you are right, I see you as being wrong.
