a vote for ISSUE 3 is a vote for legalization. However, there is also an issue 2 which would prevent "cartels or monopolies" =its a initiative that if passed would actually prevent legalization and its unclear what happens if it confuses enough voters so that both pass

I think pot is a stupid habit, bad for your lungs, bad for your brain etc but I fully intend to vote YES on issue 3 and NO on Issue 2

I signed the petition to get it on the AZ ballot last week.

If you legalize it, I'll drive to Cincinnati and smoke a bowl with you....

This pot stuff is a good start.

Now let's toss the whole freakin' WoD, and restore the Constitution!

hard to ever imagine ohio as a progressive state, but that only makes it a sure sign that the war for drugs, an abysmal failure that ruined millions of lives, is about to face its demise

There are two initiatives in Arizona. I'm hoping that doesn't confuse voters. And I wouldn't put it past the Teapulican controlled Az Legislature and Governor Douchey to find away to sabotage it. Hell, we had to pass the medicinal pot bill 3 times before we finally got it.

Yeah, Gov Brewer and AG Montgomery pulled every rotten trick to stop medical marijuana, and they failed miserably at every step, bastards. Either one will have a lot of the same measures in place to make it bullet proof. There is an awful radio talk guy (one of the losers who has to buy time on an obscure station) who has written two laughably bad editorials in the Republic. It will pass if it gets on the ballot. I figure a few plants will be quite pretty between my banana plants.

real legalization in Ohio might actually push my own state to wake up. not because of common sense, but mostly because of the lost money.

Yeah, I know who that guy is. He's a grumpy old ****. I've read his editorials, those and the bogus bull**** editorials from the sheriff in Yavapai, which she had to retract twice.

I think the initiatives will easily get enough signatures. I plan to sign them at the downtown farmer's market as soon as it begins again this fall. I know they'll be collecting signatures there.

Still Douchey and the Teapublican legislature bother me. I have no doubt that they are planning something to counter widespread citizen support for the initiatives.

On another note. I've been thinking about banana plants for a while but wonder how they do in monsoons. Also, do the sun not burn the hell out of them?

Yeah, I was at First Friday and signed them. The guy who wrote it is Seth Liebsohn, he is a grumpy young ***, you might be thinking of Rudy K, who is an angry old geezer with no solutions. If you have to do a brokered talk radio show, you are already a loser.

Banana plants love the sun, they just need a good soak every day, and I fertilize every month with fish emulsion. Papaya is the same way, put them against a brick wall, they love the heat. I've had 2 banana buds form and open but the fruit never grew more than a few inches and the rest of the bud never opened. The plant dies after putting out a bud, but, banana is a rhizome (and an herb), so there are always plenty of new pups coming in, I have a few I need to chop out and transplant. Here they are during the morning monsoon we had the other day, there is a Brazillian papaya in the middle that is starting a growth spurt.

Ohioans reject legalizing marijuana
Ohioans pushed a monopoly marijuana-legalization proposal out the door Tuesday by a nearly 2-to-1 vote.

But the question is, will pot make a comeback?

Although Issue 3 was handily defeated, the debate and conversations about the issue have convinced House Speaker Cliff Rosenberg, R-Clarksville, and other state lawmakers who were staunchly opposed to legalization to now say it may be time to move ahead with medical marijuana.

Looks like the war on drugs continues in Ohio. :stooges

There is a ray of hope with medical marijuana.
