I think your logic is faulty. So are your facts. Hariri was assassinated years ago. With the strong Hezbollah ties to Syria, I'd be dumbfounded if they played no part whatsoever.

Then make the case with something stronger than accusations, insinuations, rumors, suspicions, and one article.

Bear in mind, what you are asking the Lebanese to accept on your hunch could, by your own admission, lead to civil war.

That Hez'boallah is being moderated by its political inclusion, coupled with the risk of civil war is not something you simply toss aside on a hunch or a German news paper.

I could just as easily make insinuations based on rumor about Israel's long term covert involvement in Lebanon and their strong desire to see Syrian influence removed from Lebanon. Would that be in any way helpful to either Lebanon or Israel?

Der Spiegel is a very highly regarded German newspaper. In addition, Germany has no past or current connections whatsoever with Lebanon and has no dog in this fight. Der Spiegel also probably has the highest daily circulation in Austria which is where the UN Court investigating the Hariri assassination is located. If any newspaper would have an inside track in Vienna, it would most likely be Der Spiegel.

Like everyone else, I'll wait and see how this plays out. But one can't say the source is problematic or the logic above is faulty.
