That "Iranian Splinter Group" is currently at odds with the Lebanese Government, and they haven't gotten along all that well since the Shia rose up against the Christians (and Sunnis) who have controlled Lebanon for thousands of years.

If you watched the News, you would be aware of these things I suppose. Maybe you've seen the barricades erected?

If the Christian-led government made a Peace deal with Israel, it would be the end of Lebanon as a single country. The Christian govt would show it cares nohing about the plight of the thousands of citizens in the southern part of its country (not that they've ever done anything to show they do care) and Lebanon would disintegrate. The Lebanese government is made up of the Christian-fascist types, who excel only at massacring unarmed civilians, while the poorer elements have, obviously, shown bravery under fire.

Meanwhile, for Israel to kill 30,000 Lebanese civilians from the skies then demand a peace treaty is ridiculous, akin to Hitlers War Machine threatening Great Britain following Dunkirk, and demanding a similiar Peace Treaty.

Of course, I probably wouldn't have this view, lest for Ronald Reagan sending in our boys to support the 'Christian' forces of Amin Gemayel, son of the founder of the Phalangist militia. The US Marines did everything they could to expand the power of the Lebanese President, while doing zilch to try and reach out to the Shia, Sunni, Palestinian, and Druze who were, as Tom Friedman wrote at the time, ecstatic about the American involvement in their country. But naturally, after the US, and Eurpoean Forces, became just the "International Militia," and in the eyes of the average Lebanese anything but a freedom fighter, they were of course an open target.

As for "admitting I'm wrong", what would I be admitting that to exactly? So far, I've only seen you throwing up smokescreens and flinging BS. Feel free to introduce sites that will support your claims.

FWIW, I ran a NEXIS search concerning the recent fighting against the Hezbollah terrorist group. Israel did not kill 30,000 Lebanese civilians.

From a leftist, and very anti-Israel (and probably anti-Jew) site. The article I had read with that number had a reference to a BBC story, but the numbers were still switched. In reality, approximately 1,900 Lebanese civilians were killed, and 1,000,000 were displaced during the conflict.

Several thousand Lebanese civlians have been killed by Israel.

Estimates range between 5 and 15 thousand killed in the 82 war.
Over 1000 lebanese civilians were killed in the '06 war.

This is terrorism, but dare anyone call it that? I thought so.
