Because it is. Your telling me that his statements didn't outrage the global left? You're telling me that the left in America weren't shocked and stunned by his "hawkish" tone? Just use this site. None of the hardcore left have spoken a word of it. After 8 years of hearing our left whine and complain about "hawkish" Bush, the left are faced with reality.

It's exactly what I have stated all along. This "War on Terror" does not end with Bush. It's merely going to shift to the next phase.

I don't know what the "global left" that you are referring to. Do you mean worldwide or generally the left in America? If it's the former, then it's a strawman as the whole world isn't his constituency. If it's the latter, I don't think it was a surprise to the left as a whole, but the fringe elements.

The people have nothing to do with the dealings between the american neocons and the Arab dictators they support. Saddam (had), Al-Saud, the Hashemites, and the Zionists all have support to continue dictating the lives of Kurds, Palestinians, and their people. Neither do the people have anything to do with the dealings of CIA and Al-Qaeda, or Bush and the Binladen family. The Arab people do not want Uncle Sam's salvation, they want him to stay the **** out of their lives. Uncle Sam's Zionist and Arab Dictator friends need his constant salvation.

And finally, get your math right. Saudi money invested in the USA is a backbone of the american economy. American corporations ask for arab contracts and handouts..The ratio of arab money invested in USA is a multiple of the amount of money the US spends on arabs.

Hahaha. Oh, I love this. So, let me get this straight. The Muslims that are slaughtered and starved to death in Sudan and Darfur don't need "Uncle Sam's" help because the Arab people have it handled? Iraq's persecution of the Shia and the Kurd was something the Arab people (Saddam's regime) were handling? The Tali-Ban's prescriptions, were in direct conflict with the Arab people in the Middle East were just on the edge of dealing with it for their fellow Muslim people in Afghanistan? And the Arab people have some secret army charged with locating Bin Laden? The man who has re-defined Islam for the world audience into a violent cult and is supposed to not be a voice for Arabs is an object to be hunted down by the Arab people in due time?

The truth is that the Arab people could care less about the suffering of Muslims as long as Arabs are the oppressors and not the victim. Wow. It's a good thing that the Muslims in the Middle East have the Arabs to care for them. Culture is fate.

Well, we have to remember that both parties are very strong in defense of Israel. If anything, historically, it's been the Democrats who were the most unshakeable on the issue.

I have faith that a withdrawal from Iraq will free our hands to do more than the my-way-or-the-highway "diplomacy" we've seen over the past 8 years. While Obama is obviously making good with a constituency he needs to carry, his calls to talk with the leaders of the major powers in the region impressed me greatly.

There have been rumors going around that Syria is willing to make a Treaty with Israel, and are at some point along in the process (and of course, on their own timeline). According to Jimmy Carter, Assad is "very close" to wanting this done, though this is definitely the most optimistic I've heard someone on the issue. Hopefully, it isn't the one that's farthest from reality. I have faith that one of the major impediments to this breakthrough is Bush, as no Arab leader would do such a thing with him as POTUS. I hope that an Obama Presidency would be different.
