I'd like to ask you several questions (if you dont mind) in order to understand how is life in Israel and the relation with Pals
- have you got contacts with Palestinians? Do you talk to them or is it a completely separated community?
- are there differences with these contacts in function of the part of the country (close to Gaza, Lebanese frontier, south, east...) you live in?
- do the anti-terrorist measures (checkpoints, wall...) affect your everyday life?
- what do you think about the "ultraorthodox" Israelis who settle in "palestinian aera"? Are they numerous?
- what do you think about the Israelis who refuse to do their military duty? Are they seen as traitors? Are they numerous?
- what do you think about the "new Israelis" (I read that many Jews came from Russia after 1990)? Are there different communities of Israelis who speak different languages and customs?
- have you got contacts with the Jewish diaspora in Europe/USA?

It is perhaps easiest to converse with Arab Druze in northern Israel simply because they all speak Hebrew. Quote:

However, it is extremely difficult as an Israeli to transit the Customs terminals of any ME Arab nation. Egypt has a limited area (Zone 5) bordering Israel in which a passport/visa is not required. Beyond that, forget it. Quote:

I believe one-third of Jewish Israelis can speak Russian. Quote:

One of them was superskippy, a nice guy from Haifa, who left long ago.
The other one is Jacob, a very good poster and a very nice person. I guess, he has been driven away by the resident board pro-Isralis (who don't allow me to call them Zionists anymore).
Tashah and Shayah are Americans, who think they are Israelis, because they spent some weeks there. |

Further, these posters are not the topic of the thread. Cease this behavior, immediately. |

Bub, these are great questions Id love to find the answers to.

| Billo is a self loathing jew so he hardly counts, from what i have seen
seems he woudl be a better fit as atheist or Jews for Jesus
i doubt he has been to temple in the last decade
he was born jewish, i see no reason to doubt that, but nothing i have seen on these boards makes me believe he is truly a practicing jew
Tashah and Shayah are Israelis, as well as Americans, but hardly zionists, from all their posts anyways
and both countries, IMO should be proud to have them as citizens
I do not know as much of Shayah
but Tashah is a patriot of both countries and rather than just pontificate about it, she is active, and has put her life on the line for her beliefs, her god, & her country. And not just by the mandatory service in Israel but i will leave it at that
I see nothing zionist in the least about them
the word Zionist is thrown around so much it is losing its real meaning IMO
especially since NCFY claims they are taking over the world through influence and meddling
zionist is becoming like neo-con, liberal, and so many other words that are thrown around all to often indiscriminately diminishing the word, just like nigger is diminished by nigg@
I have more respect for these dual citizen jews than i do for most people i meet on a day to day basis
they are far more intelligent & experienced than the avg schmuck in america, myself included, and have been willing to pay the ultimate price for their country(ies) and beliefs
their opinions/views are, of course, open to debate
there character is not
