THREAT: Iran Sending Elite Fighters Into USA, Europe...

It wasn't owed them. The money was being held as part of the financial sanctions for attacking US soil in 1979, and then sponsoring, financing, organizing, and training terrorists.

IIRC the Court of Arbitration with no rebuttal from the US ruled in Iran's favor.

Yes, it is Maori and the translation is largely correct except that usage defines "he tangata!" in the proverb I am partly quoting as "[the] people." FYI here it is in full;

He aha te mea nui o te ao? He tangata, he tangata, he tangata ; translated as " What is [the] most important [thing] in the world? It is people, it is people, it is people!" although an older translation is : " What is the greatest thing on earth? 'Tis man! 'Tis man! 'Tis man!"

Indeed it did. That the monies were held so long is not a good thing, trying to say it was a bribe from Obama to Iran or the payment of a ransom is just nonsense.

I am retired Canadian Military. A good friend did a 3 month Military exchange in New Zealand, and yes he met a number of Maori people. He was well treated and had a hell of a good time

It was the International Court of Justice in the Hague, also known as the World Court, of which the US is not a member. The US is a sovereign nation that may or may not comply with external rulings from external groups. The US was attacked by Iran, and the US placed sanctions on Iran, therefore only the US can decide whether it will or will not lift the sanctions and return the money.

The US does not, well, at least until the Obama Administration did this crap, relinquish our sovereignty to a foreign organization, to include the UN and/or the World Court.

Obama has asked for a clean bill to extend sanctions. It is now in the hands of congress as some wish to include sanctions that would violate the agreement both countries and others signed off on

The IUSCT was formed to deal with the release of the hostages taken in the attack by Iran on US soil (our embassy). The International Court of Justice is where Iran sued the US to get their money back, plus interest. The Obama Administration opened up a heretofore sealed can of crap that will surely harm the US in the future by opening up the US and US businesses to future suits by foreign agents.

Actually, it's the Iranians who make people nervous. That's why their neighbors invite us to hang around.

There has never been any possibility of a US invasion of Iran. The US does not have sufficient forces for that.

Between the Saudi- Iran Theocracy as each are a Theocracy, and the Sunni-Shia hate fest propagated by both since shortly after Mohamed died till about 900 AD.
