American commandos 'forced to run away' from US-backed Syrian rebels - Telegraph

"Video footage appears to show US commandos fleeing a Syrian town under a barrage of abuse and insults hurled at them by fighters from the American-backed Free Syrian Army (FSA) rebel group. The video appears to be the first evidence of US special forces cooperating with Turkish troops in their battle against Islamic State (Isil)..."

Hmmm....

EDIT. Found some of the video footage from the article on youtube, dunno if the translation is accurate though.

That is the stuff that inspires recruits for ISIS or other terrorists groups. Not Gitmo, not what people who criticize Islam say. Showing weakness is a huge mistake the whole world keeps making.

No weakness in running when your **** is being blown up. ;)

But I get your drift.

Agreed.....no weakness, to avoid a confrontation all in all is better than to ego boost yourself and stand and fight needlessly.

With that being said..... I still just dont get it........ our top end resources are being used in a country that has different beliefs, has different religious beliefs and as the translation goes, they dont even want us there..... UM...... YEAH....... what am I missing here......

We have lost the conviction to beat the enemy into a bloody pulp. We have lost the conviction to accept the criticism that comes along with beating your enemy into a bloody pulp.

We have lost the conviction because the American government has lost all integrity when it comes to being honest, and they know it. Europe is the same way with their own meddling.

Truth ^^^^ No sugar coating, while blunt it is what it is.

Yes we have lost the conviction as "We" (politicians) want to stay politically correct in the eyes of the world, "We" uphold the the Geneva Convention and the "Rules of War" while our enemies laugh at our faces.....

We are a 300+ year old nation trying to tell a 2000+ year old civilization how to act........ I still dont get it.....

Being a responsible super power in my opinion is not forcing everyone to live under our rules, its to let everyone live under their own rules but if someone impedes on others then we have some responsibility to put them back in their place. Same if we are being forced upon. But what gives us the right to tell someone that has 2000+ old values how to live their lives....and why should we worry about what they have been doing..... we cant even clean up our own streets and we want to clean up others......

They dont want us there...... needless loss of life......... I just dont get it..... I will say this, I served and I did my duty....I will never questions the orders appointed above me when its time to deliver, but "AARs" are conducted, and that is when i will put my input......after action review..... "Sir, what the hell are we doing this for? Im just curious, it just seems like we are the nosy neighbor that needs to know everything that is going on. Sir"......

I'm annoyed that our special forces are with the Turkish/rebel coalition in the first place. The invasion was specifically geared towards undermining the Syrian Kurds and has little to do with the Islamic State, and the Turks should be more than capable of dealing with the Islamic State on their own.

These are professional soldiers. It wouldn't have been worth starting an altercation and turning allies into enemies just to project strength.
