Damascus has labelled as an “act of aggression” the US-led coalition’s missile strike which killed three Syrian soldiers at an army base in the Deir ez Zor province.
On top of the fatalities, 13 personnel were injured and a number of military vehicles were destroyed when warplanes fired nine missiles at the Saeqa military camp.
The incident is the first of its kind since the coalition started to bomb Syrian territory more than a year ago, though the US-led alliance continues to deny it carried out the airstrike.

“Syria strongly condemns the act of aggression by the US-led coalition that contradicts the UN Charter on goals and principles. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has sent letters to the UN Secretary General and the UN Security Council,” Syria's SANA news agency quoted the country's foreign ministry as saying.

Damascus, SANA- Foreign and Expatriates Ministry said that four U.S.- led coalition warplanes targeted with 9 rockets one of the Syrian army’s posts in Deir Ezzor province, claiming the lives of 3 soldiers and injuring 13 others in addition to destroying three armored vehicles, four military vehicles, 23 mm machinegun, 14.5 machinegun and a depot of arms and ammunition.
In two identical letters addressed to the UN Secretary General and Chairman of the UN Security Council on Monday, the Foreign and Expatriates Ministry stressed that the Syrian Arab Republic strongly condemns this heinous aggression by the coalition and affirms that it contradicts with the goals and wills of the UN Charter.
Syria called on the Security Council to immediately take the urgent measures to prevent such aggression from occurring again, adding that the aggression on the military post hinders the efforts aiming to fight terrorism and reiterates that the U.S.- led coalition lacks seriousness and credibility in the fight against terrorism.

Syria is claiming that western-coalition lead strikes hit a army compound in the Deir Ezzor province of Syria which lead to at least 3 Syrian Arab Army soldiers killed and more wounded. Western-coalition spokesperson responded by saying no strike ever took place. Im sure more info will be released slowly.

It's war. **** happens.

You're going to have awfully tired fingers if you try to report on every little controversy and misstep along the way (and I should know, given that it was and is pretty much my job... when I actually get a chance to do it  ).

Let's see. It's a war. They must have attacked or threatened us. No. We are the aggressors attempting to overthrow a sovereign Nation. Our policies have brought ISIL to Libya, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, and who knows where else. This has caused millions of deaths in just Iraq and Syria. We are not the good guys. ISIL is supported by Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar, among others, and they are our ALLIES, ergo we must be supporting ISIL, directly or indirectly. Directly because we thought we could cleverly use them to destabilize Assad. Indirectly because they are the headchoppers and definitely the "bad guys." We have not declared war. We have not been requested by Syria to help Syria. We are illegally invading Syrian airspace and now ground areas. This is 6,000 miles away and we have not been attacked or threatened by Syria. Wake up! We're being snookered by Big Energy to control geo strategic reserves in the interests of the status quo of Big Money. WE are the bad guys in Syria, Libya, and where else? This airstrike represents an escalation because it is a direct and obvious attack upon the Syrian Army. That is the same Syrian Army that has not attacked or threatened us. I'm sure the Western Press Stenographers will play this as smacking some evil axis scumbags or other Pentagon Narrative to present a picture of "you're not a Patriot if you don't support these attacks against a serious threat to our freedoms." BULLCRAP! This is all about controlling the Natural Gas flow to Europe. End of story.

Assad is a genocidal tyrant who is allied with our strategic enemies and has tacitly consented to the ISIS take over of roughly half of his country as a desperate gambit to stay in power.

The odds are that this event (if it ever occurred at all) was a case of mistaken identity. Quite frankly, however, even if it wasn't, who gives a damn?

Lets see... we have several nations engaged in bombing (for different reasons and expectations) several other groups in Syria (who are all in a long term multiple way civil war.) Something like 8-9 nations (only 1 of which al-Assad invited) are invading Syria to some degree all shooting at various parties within Syria just about every single day.

I am impressed that on any given day that any one party in this fiasco knows exactly who they are firing at on the battlefield. Pretty soon they will all have to go LA gang style, and have colors on their clothing to denote who everyone is aligned with.

It is not surprising to see al-Assad's government complain about how bad this has turned out for everyone involved, and it is equally no wonder why this has turned into one of the biggest humanitarian and refugee headaches of our generation.

You couldn't be more wrong. We attempted to destabilize Assad politically and when that failed we had our Western Press Stenographers present the genocide blather about genocide when Assad shot foreign instigated protestors and the USA was the foreign instigator trying to initiate another color revolution. You fell for this ruse. Then we enabled and ignored ISIS because we thought we could use them to destabilize Assad. Another wrong decision. Now, the USA, has to pretend it did not tacitly support the headchoppers because, well, they're headchoppers. The USA has been one of the "Bad Guys" in Syria and it's not complicated. There is no mistaken identity on the USA attack on Syrian Army forces. It was most certainly intended.

Anything to try and paint us as being the bad guys in this, amirite? :sarcasticclap

No, you're not right. We are the bad guys in this. Please refute any claim I made. You can't. I'm as much a patriot as you are and maybe more, but I expect my Nation to do honorable things in this World. We are without honor in Syria. We do these dishonorable things in yours and my name.

You're joking, right?

Assad is a brutal tyrant, from a family of brutal tyrants. He opened fired on protesters of his own free will. He used chemical weapons against his people of his own free will. He's tortured and executed thousands of his own people of his own free will as well.

If this administration had had any brains, we would have supported the more politically moderate rebel forces arrayed against Assad's regime when we had the chance. Instead, we sat on our hands and did basically nothing, which created a power vacuum which radical Jihadists were quick to exploit. This allowed for the rise of ISIS.

Take your rabid self-loathing anti-American paranoia somewhere else.

Quite an accomplishment to get so much misinformation in one post. The rebels used the gas in several false flag ops. The USA hired Syria to do black site torture and "Gee, who's a thunk it?" If this US regime had any sense at all, it would not have become involved in this morass. He opened fire on "foreign inspired" protestors. Inspired by USAID, NED, Freedom House and the CIA.
The USA's big and close allies, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Turkey supported and continue to support ISIL in Iraq and Syria. The USA provided about $1.5 billion to support these activities. Also, if ISIS is on the side of our Allies, then we are on the side of our Allies, then we must be on ISIS's side, as well. It's another story about lying with dogs and fleas.

we are definitely the "bad guys" in Libya ( thanks for noticing.. many do not) - but I'm wondering just how much of a
"bad guy" we are in Syria..I do agree this stupid "Assad must go" meme has done a lot of harm,
but the place is so convoluted/separate wars I'm thinking we are just another player

It's a non-story either way. Either it didn't happen or it doesn't matter.

Yeah, if I can use something metaphorically- its like a bunch of people from another neighborhood just enter a stranger's house where there's a family fight going on and they start smashing things and beating up the people who live there for no other reason than just hating on the guy who owns it.

Including one dumb uncle, that we all have, that somehow always shows up and simply breaks **** just because others are breaking ****.

There is no "open season" on Syria. Document one aggressive act by Syria against the USA. There's no reason "Assad must go." He has considerable support in Syria, but no support by ISIS/ISIL. We are not just another player. We are the leader of the Western Empire and Banking Hegemony. It must be Syria has something to do with that. Think about it.

hey i'm not advocating "assad must go" -
it'sone of our business what the Arab Spring brought to Syria..

I don't think we a re a bad guy anymore then anybody else, but that is damning with faint praise.
Everybody uses Syria for their own ends

No matter what you think of the Assad regime or American policy towards it, this is highly unlikely. The US has been responsible for many incidents of friendly fire during the Gulf War, Afghanistan, and elsewhere, and the communication between us and our allies or our own forces in those situations was an order of magnitude better than between us and the Syrian regime. If it is true that the US bombed the Assad regime on an active front line with ISIS - highly unlikely, since we contacted the Syrian UN ambassador when the airstrikes against ISIS started - it is more likely a result of incompetence than of malice.

Re: Syria slams US-led coalition deadly strike against troops as 'act of aggression'

Update:

Now the US is saying "nope, it was the Russians who bombed the Syrian Arab Army".

A senior U.S. military official says the United States is “certain” that it was a Russian airstrike that killed three Syrian soldiers and wounded 13 others.

The U.S. has said it was not a coalition strike, but Syria’s government accused the U.S.-led alliance of bombing the army camp and hitting troops loyal to President Bashar Assad (bah-SHAR’ AH’-sahd).

The city of Der el-Zour, where the strikes are said to have been carried out on Sunday, is mainly held by the Islamic State group, but the Syrian government maintains a presence in some parts of it.

The official was not authorized to discuss the matter publicly, so spoke on condition of anonymity.

News from The Associated Press

"He said, she said." If the Russians did it, they will admit it. The anonymous report from AP sounds like the standard cover operation. Narratives don't require facts to support them. I would expect that fragments might leave incriminating evidence of the Country of Origin of the missiles. Aircraft flight tracks might be useful.

Lol. Two years later and Moscow denies that even a stray cat has crossed the Ukraine/Russia border.

Men, arms, still pour into east Ukraine from Russia: U.N.

Wed Dec 9, 2015

Arms and fighters are still pouring into rebel-held areas of eastern Ukraine from Russia, a United Nations report said on Wednesday, as it put the death toll from 20 months of fighting at more than 9,100.

Is this the region in Ukraine where the Kiev/Ukrainians attacked their own citizens causing the 9,100 dead. A bankrupt Nation choosing to spend money that could help its' Nation but instead chooses to waste that money on pre-emptive war?

The Russians hit the wrong target and the Syrians blame the US.

“The United States and its dependencies in Europe and Canada do not want to cooperate with Syria or Russia on this [counterterrorism efforts] because their primary objective is not as they claim to destroy ISIL but to destroy the government of Syria as they did the government in Libya and Iraq.”
Declassified Defense Intelligence Agency documents from 2012 reveal the Pentagon is working with the Gulf States and Turkey to “isolate the Syrian regime” and establish a Salafist principality in Syria.

The destruction of the Assad regime would be of great benefit to the entire region. Of course documents from 2012 emphasize fighting Assad over fighting ISIL. ISIL wasn't a concern in early 2012.
